And that is pure and utter codswhallop. Racism would not have died. It did not even significiantly diminish, it just went underground and started using "code words". I lived in the Deep South through the Sixties and Seventies, and I can assure you that racism was quite alive during that time, concordant with the villification of liberals. I don't know whether you are ignorant or simply naive, but perhaps you ought to educate yourself on recent US history and stop getting it from hate rags like WND.

THAT and the green Malthusianism and Gaea worship are the chief reasons I vote against democrats.

On a side note. My generation will probably be one of the poorest generations since the 20s and 30s. It will most likely be a result of increasing displacement of workers from new autonomous technologies. Truck drivers, dock workers, factory workers, machinists, etc. will all become things of the past. I predict that 2020 will see rapid unemployment from the new wave of automated technologies. It will take a reasonable amount of time to retrain the work force.

The point being that in the midst of this rapid unemployment, racial demagogues are likely to be abound. I think racial tensions will increase, not decrease. Black people are ripe for it with all the unemployment and poverty. Rural whites are as well. I think middle class Americans will largely dodge this bullet, but poorer Americans will begin to fight one another aggressively. The fall of a nation always starts with poor people descending into madness and anarchy.

That doesn't mean blacks & whites & Hispanics & whomever are going to start trying to kill each other in large numbers. Even I f your prediction comes to pass.

WND "catalogues" stories like these the same way The Color Of Crime assessed statistics on interracial crime to reach conclusions like "blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder"- by concentrating so fiercely on anomalistic exceptions to the rule that they persuaded themselves that they are the rule. My guess at the time was that they were talking about Burlington, but I'm not even sure of that. This is not about race. It's about what happens when a group of people is deliberately held outside of the normal requirements of working for a living and dealing with other people by a rogue political party which wants them as a kept voting block.

Of course, when the group in question IS visually distinct from the surrounding populace, then other kinds of pathologies and an us vs. them mindset should be expected to set in, particularly when a rogue government ENCOURAGES such developments.

This has little to do with government programs and more with the death of the working class and the exclusion of vast segments of the society in latest capitalism.

No, but blacks were ironically better off. We had our own businesses, shops, and employment was much less of an issue prior to the 1964 civil rights act.

Racism is tragic. I'm not condoning it. It just seems to me that blacks lost their independent thinking and entrepreneurial spirit with the onset of integration. We relied too heavily on other communities to help us flourish. When they flourished we flourished, but as soon as the jobs left, the black community practically collapsed.

Damn shame the Busing Programs weren't more widespread.

Why do black kids need to get bused to white schools? I mean that irks me so much about black people. We rely so heavily on other people to make our lives bearable. Some of the greatest black minds came from those separate institutions. I'm not advocating for separation, but I am arguing that blacks need to become more self-reliant and industrious. We need to establish our own foothold in the American economy and provide ourselves greater employment opportunities. It sickens me that blacks are so reliant on the government and the charity of a few reformed liberal whites. Most of our jobs are public sector or low wage jobs. Very few of our jobs are located in future or emerging fields.

I think many of us well off and middle class JREFers take for granted that most Americans are a few paychecks away from total poverty. People do strange things when they cannot eat or find work. They find ways to displace anger. This is historical precedent.

Black people with any degree of commonsense are usually irked by the level of dependency that many blacks find themselves in. The point of integration in my opinion was not to make blacks reliant on other communities for opportunity, but instead to be allowed the opportunity to work alongside other communities if need be. For example, I don't believe the purpose of integration was to make blacks reliant on white business owners for job opportunities, but to make it possible for black and white businesses to conduct business on a fair and even playing field. Instead what has happened is that blacks have largely abandoned their position of autonomy, and have become reliant on other communities for opportunity.

Other communities have their own lawyers, their own dentists, their own doctors, their own accountants, their own small shop owners etc. But blacks are notorious for being some of the biggest spenders and having the least internal wealth inside of their community. Other communities are the opposite. They save a lot of money inside of their community and spend some or little of it outside of their community. Black people need to learn from other people, but not become dependent on them. The most talented blacks usually don't live in black areas or work with black businesses. Black affluent communities are rare, though not non-existent. It is time to increase the number of black billionaires, doctors, lawyers, scientists, and teachers. That is the only way blacks will not become eternally poor by constant migration and eternal failed attempts at integration.

Although integration has introduced a medium sized black middle class, it still is directly tied to the increased amount of unemployed and jobless blacks. A trend that will continue if blacks do not begin to employ themselves and create their own opportunities.

ETA: Blacks were one of the hardest hit groups by the recession because many of us were employed in fields like construction or government labor. Many of which were cut during the onset of the recession.

Or that Confucius actually wrote Walden under the pen name Thoreau and the 19th century Liberal Mainstream Media hid that fact from the American public.
