CNN didn't start the coverage for an hour and when they did MSNBC had already updated a lot of facts while CNN continued to report the older information.

It's bizarre when peoples' political bias taints everything so thoroughly.

That aside, I haven't seen any videos that show enough of what happened to even begin speculating on what caused the aircraft to go down. Certainly, the steep climb was unintentional - it was a race, not a stunt run. What caused that climb is going to be the subject of the investigation, no doubt.

True, and that and combined with what can be seen in other photos I have seen are suggesting a possible cause and chain of events to me at least.

There is a whole lot of speculation going around on various forums as there always is, some informed, mostly not. Let the NTSB do their job.

That's true, and for those who think that might be a factor, remember he had to be medically cleared to retain a licence. Just ask Bob Hoover.

Anderson Cooper spent most or all of his show on CNN reporting on this story too, before many of the details were known. In fact, it's still front page "breaking news" on their site. Fox News headlines it "'Unbelievable Gore' at Air Race Crash" and it's the primary story on their site. That's not a "huge story"?

It's getting fairly high coverage in the UK, although inevitably dwarfed by the mining deaths in Wales, and European economic worries.

Small prop aerobatic planes pull a lot of G's. At that level it is not about the aircraft but the pilot and when they black out.

Climbing is when you get the most Gs, and blood rushes out of the brain.

Well, turning too, but turning is just climbing sideways.

Climbing? I thought it was turning as you will not be accelerating at multiple Gs upward. Also once you reach a constant speed upward you go to 1 g while in a turn you are constantly accelerating.

Most of the injuries seem to be shrapnel from news accounts. Clearly anybody directly hit by that aircraft would be in bits and pieces.
