It's simple - the boys in MARPAT did something right (the ambush that killed the enemy) then did something contrary to regulations and that whole code of conduct thing that we espouse (peeing or pretending to pee on the corpses of their foes), then did something incredibly stupid (had it videotaped and posted to the web).
While the locals may not like it when you kill the enemy they understand it, and why it happens. When you desecrate and denigrate the body, that's when the population starts going, "Why should I help them?" and the whole "winning hearts and minds" part of every counter insurgency goes right down the crapper.
Off the top of my head, in the Canadian Forces these guys could be charged with:
s.129 - Conduct to the prejudice of good order and discipline; and
s.93 - Cruel or Disgraceful conduct.
Both of which can lead to being dismissed with disgrace from the CF.
You can probably throw in Disobedience of a Lawful Command as well, and maybe Conspiracy.
