Because it is a verbal explanation on here, and one I cannot check myself. I do not know what you are hearing. I have asked a few friends to check the quality, and it is reported as poor. I don't keep ignoring it, I keep replying with the same answer.

Thank u, that does happen and the post is not lost, occasionally it requests that I refresh the page then log in, and the post disappears.

This has happened to many of us. The simple solution is to select and copy all the text in your post before you hit "Submit Reply". That way if the post is lost you can just hit "Reply" again, paste your copied text into the message window and hit Submit Reply again. Problem solved!

Ok, but I am going by what other people have told me, and Alderbank did confirm it. So whatever you hear, is likely not what I and others hear.

This is true at a basic level because we are going though different audio cards and speakers. But we can all play audio clips from elsewhere and hear what we are supposed to hear. It is only the spirit voices that we don't seem to hear. I wonder why that is.

I mean, like, when I play an MP3 of Hendix's "Purple Haze" I can clearly hear him sing "''scuse me, while I kiss this guy."

I'm sure there's a thread on this somewhere, but I think it's worth reporting here that when my father was a kid he thought the lyric "Who wrote the book of love?" in the song of the same name was saying, "Rudolph the moo-cow now".

built-in mic, everything turned up all the way.

If I had breathed or moved, you would have heard it.

Then this "silence" is normalized to just under 0 db.

There are a few low frequency thumps, otherwise it's just white noise.

There's a fan in the back of the Mac that's running, and some hiss from all the amps that are on, so that provides a little noise.

If instead you want recordings of ambient sound from my neighborhoods past and present, I have hundreds of hours of that: birds chirping, snatches of conversation, city rumble, etc. That was a sort of hobby of mine for a few years.

I'm not going to mess around with your email or mine. That doesn't make any sense to me. Audio is audio.

Oh, and the folder it's in is an old one where I was testing mp3 of a Doobie Bro. Song, called What a Fool Believes, because I like that song very much. That has nothing to do with this.

Just for fun I have been looking for an online demonstration of audio pardolia and I found these two clips that might be of some use is demonstrating the powerful effect of your brains desire to interpret noise to scrappy and flaccon.

Listen to audio clip number 1 a few times and write down what you hear.

Then listen to audio clip number 2 just once should do. Now go back and listen to #1 again.

Be honest with your results and maybe you'll understand this a bit better.

Flaccon a lot of people think you would benefit by giving this simple experiment a go. It will take just a few minutes and may help you understand what you are experiencing better.

Nice recording of a waterfall.

But at 15 sec I hear a very muffled sound at very low volume that could be voice.

Can't wait to see what sounds like after it has be altered by the spirits.

For now, I have the only other copy of the files. After flaccon opens them on her computer and the spirits have an opportunity to do whatever it is they do, I'll share my copies with everyone.

REF to # 2279. This explanation of heavy rain and the ceiling fan whirring away, is exactly what I heard as I listened in to VolNorm and VolUp. This noise was constant throughout. These files did alter with significant differences. After Flaccon retrieved them and played them through her laptop.

I am known as "jsfisher" on the JREF forums. The .ZIP file attached to this email contains three audio files of "silence" I recorded on my PC. The PC is a Lenovo Thinkpad T420. The recordings were made with the volume on the internal speaker full off, full on, and normal. It was all done in a room with a ceiling fan whirring away and it was raining heavily outside. It should be obvious from the file names which file is which.

No kidding. As chillzero pointed out, this lady believes spirit voices are contacting her through her cell phone, and threatening to invade her television in the future. She doesn't need further experiments. It's possible what she really needs is psychiatric attention, and continuing this thread is not only pointless, but harmful to her.

I know this forum sees this kind of thing a lot, and it's hard to resist trying to get ones like flaccon and scrappy to see logic, but wouldn't it be better to let this one go?

I disagree. I think a hands on dmeostration of pareidolia would be good for flaccon to experience and I am not alone in this.
