London's "No-Go" areas.

Manchester sees the Sun more often than Macclesfield.

I have no doubt that there are many religious people in Macclesfield that cover themselves up, but to be fair so does everyone - due to the persistent drizzle.

Fun fact* - there is a local bylaw that says that washing machines sold in Macclesfield don't need to have a rinse cycle, as that is generally achieved by hanging outside.

*I might have made this up

From Northenden to Partington it's rain
From Altrincham to Chadderton it's rain
From Moss Side to Swinton hardly Spain
From Cheetham Hill to Wythenshawe it's rain
Gorton, Salford, Sale pretty much the same

Only young women who don't adhere to the rules need fear Canning Town. Dress code standards and proper comportment must be maintained at all times.

A shameful liberal demonstration that will undoubtedly end in six of the best for the miscreants.

Yeah, good illustration, Yorkshire being a backwards area populated by simple uneducated and uncurious folk compared to Lancashire being at the forefront of modernity populated by dynamic and progressive go getters!
Some day Yorkshire will embrace this newfangled "fire".

I'm afraid even with redoubled efforts their morals have been compromised. Later in life, when they are "of age" their Godless heathen boyfriends will undoubtedly talk them into performing acts of a lascivious and carnal nature in front of a VHS camcorder - an accidental archive of society's moral decay.

Is Macclesfield a no-go area? I hear that a lot of religious extremists immigrated here.

It has some nice pubs. :)

One of my immediate neighbours in University Halls was from Macclesfield, given that he was seven foot tall, completely incomprehensible and constantly played Mac Lads records at ear bleeding volume (and for context I was briefly President of the university Rock and Heavy Metal Society), I vote No-Go.

We're a long way outside the M25 now. Have we found any no go areas yet?

You're preaching to the choir. That is why I donate what limited funds I have for charitable contributions to the fine work being done at The Girl's Boarding School and Ironwood Academy both of which may be located in Canning Town. (I can tell by their accents.) These exceptional institutions take in young women at risk and mold them into fine citizens through a rigorous pedagogical experience. By "adopting" a few students my monthly donations go towards helping Headmaster Stern and Miss Kane perform their important missions. In return for my donations I receive a monthly video diary of the students disciplinary issues. Unfortunately, the students I've adopted are making poor progress and seem to need regular correction. I still remain optimistic for their futures.

If I can help even one young woman avoid a future of being exploited in front of a VHS camera for the benefit of dirty old men that will make my efforts worthwhile.

Middlesbrough town centre on Friday night as the bars are emptying?

That's one of those places where there'll be 2" of snow on the ground and a howling January northerly, and the lads are there at 2 in the morning in their tight tee shirts with extra short sleeves to show off their tattoos, and with a packet of cigarettes stuffed into the sleeve. The lasses totter about in high heels, mini-skirts no wider than a big belt, and tiny see through tops. If you can avoid the fights, the spectacle is worth the visit. Just the once, mind.

How very worthy of you. Congratulations. I'm sure Michael Palin wrote a series based on your experiences.

You’ve been to Bigg Market, then?

I was thinking of all the students from the University :)
