The posts I quoted show otherwise. You literally say you hope he gets raped. That's caring.Nope, I donlt care
Nope, I am advocating nothing. I don't care
Nope, I don't care.
If you have to twist this hard to defend your position, you may not have a position worth defending. On the other hand, this level of effort does suggest you care very deeply about the issue.I do not lose a moment's sleep feeling sorry for child molesters and what they might face in prison. I reserve my thoughts and sympathies for the victims of the subhuman trash (your words, not mine).
It was somewhat tongue in cheek
When I say "murderer" of course, I am referring to someone who wilfully commits premeditated murder... who plans and carries out the murder.
I care more about the safety of the public, than I care about the well being of criminals.
As I said in my earlier post.. safety the public is my first priority, suitable punishment of the offender is the second priority, and rehabilitation is the last thing on the list. There are lots of classes of criminals where I favour rehabilitation... thieves, burglars, white collar criminals etc,
Much as I am loathe to bring other countries into this [snip]
subhuman trash (your words, not mine).
You can't really root for or be indifferent to a cruel and unusual punishment hard-wired into a heavily flawed system
I thought this dishonesty deserved its own sidebar:
Nope. My word was "people."
"Subhuman trash" was my interpretation of what you think of them. I offered it to you, and you immediately accepted and adopted the term. I guessed those would be your words, and it seems I guessed right. "Subhuman trash" are your words. Own them.
(formatting removed by me.)Listen or your ears will make you deaf. For the umpteenth time....
I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR RAPE IN PRISONS OR HAVING IT AS PART OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM; I JUST DON'T CARE!
I'm sorry I have had to scream this out loudly, but its bloody frustrating when posters here intentionally pretend to not understand what I have said, and intentionally attribute things to me that I haven't said.
No matter how long this disgusting individual gets in terms of years, nothing is going to be as painful for him as the butt-reaming he is in for from some of the other inmates... at least, I hope this is the case.

Smart Cookie, you totally lost me with your attitude toward conditions in prisons.
Main point is put them in a position where they cannot contirue to prey on the general population. Nor am I against giving them an opportunity to rehabilitate themselves. I don't think anything is guaranteed by having a Devil's Island a la "Papillion" on our hands.
BTW I am against privately ran prisons, because they are so supceptible to abuse. I just wonder how widespread it is.
And what constitutes a privately ran prison anyway? If a state prison system decides to contract out a specific area .like hiring a firm to run the food operations, does that constitute a "private prison".
Which intimates a certain degree of glee at the prospect of prison rape as punishment and it explicitly states that you hope it happens.
How on earth can both of these statements be true?
"No matter how long this disgusting individual gets in terms of years, nothing is going to be as painful for him as the butt-reaming he is in for from some of the other inmates... at least, I hope this is the case. "
Do I really have to explain this? OK, I guess I do
Whether or not he gets a butt-reaming, I don't care, but if he does, I hope its painful. The pain is to be a reflection of the pain and suffering he inflicted on others
I thought I made this clear.... seems I might have to use words of one syllable for some
May I take this as an indication that you don't care about rehabilitation in the first place?
ETA: Personally, I'd find it a better solution to crime if we could do it reliably. It would also save on tax dollars, etc. There's basically no downside to rehabilitation where it works.
For crimes that carry less than a life sentence, rehabilitation should be a priority, and I don't think it's cost effective or just to sentence every burglar or credit card fraudster to a life sentence. The prison system as it currently functions (or fails to function) in the US seems to be dedicated to anti-rehabilitation. Once someone gets into the system, they are almost guaranteed to re-offend when they get out. It's insane.
As far as Larry Nassar is concerned, I have no problem at all with him spending the rest of his life in prison.
If you have to wriggle like this, and, frankly it's starting to look a little ridiculous, especially in conjunction with your very obviously increasing ire, don't you think that maybe you might be wise to re-examine your own position particularly with attention to cognitive dissonance and emotional, rather than rational thinking?
And, with that said, I'm, done with you, there's no value here.
