Largest ever miscarriage of justice?

The Post Office is being removed from the compensation plan, and now the government will issue compensations to the over 4,000 affected.

An explanation of the compensation processes:

The optics of allowing the Post Office to decide on the compensation for these people, are terrible. Its very much a case of letting Turkeys vote for Christmas.

It should have been the government controlling this all along.

At least 13 suicides and as many as 10,000 people directly affected. Such was the scale of the Post Office/Horizon MOJ;

I would be pretty certain that 13 is an under-estimate, given the well-known reluctance of coroners to give suicide verdicts and that those figures were compiled by the Post Office from their reading of media reports and what relatives told them (or so I heard on PM today).

Yeah, I've seen figures of more than forty. Then there is the Garbutt case but that's in the hands of CCRC.

Didn't we discuss this before? I don't see how the uncovering of the scandal really affects his case. The fact that the Post Office accusations against him might have been false doesn't alter the fact that he was in desperate financial trouble or the his wife was unfaithful. His motive was still pretty strong.

Yes we did. Might I suggest you refresh your memory?
