July 2007 Stundie Nominations

This is not a nomination, but I couldn't let this Kirkmanism go unappreciated:
Take your time please. I'm off out for the evening now and won't be back till tomorrow.
I've just said to my mother, "I'll see you at midnight if I don't score".
She replied, "I'll see you at midnight".

OldSchool, who claims to be an English major, commits six language errors in writing these seven words, which are the end of a sentence. I've never seen anything like that. The killer is that he had edited his post for misspellings.

there they all halo's over the head

Six errors in 7 words has got to be close to a record. Is it possible to eclipse the numer of words with the number of errors committed?

Sure. One could commit many errors with one word: multiple misspellings, wrong usage/wrong word, misused apostrophe, etc. Add punctuation errors and errors of omission like OldSchool made and you've got very new-school semiliteracy.

I'm nominating this post because the irony of measuring the "advancement" of a movement that is moving backwards is too much to pass up.

Rick Siegel really did a terrific job, of setting back NPT and DEWT 6 months or more, and I am convinced it was no accident.

Hah, as if Spitfire IX hadn't already busted him so completely that we now know exactly where he lives, his address and telephone number, and the name of the only other adult living in the same house in 2007. And it isn't his mother unless her name's George.

And that comment was after a load of fantasy about his new bride, or girlfriend, and how long she takes to get ready, and various other boorishly MCP remarks. Maybe she already dumped him?

Not that I care who a poster is, or where they live, or who with, but if you're going to come to the forum boasting about your wealth and status and threatening to buy other posters' houses out from under them, it might be advisable not to register under your own name (especially if that name is the census equivalent of a Googlewhack!), and then tell the forum the name of the town you live in. That's when we discover that the boasting is a complete pack of lies, from someone who lost his house to the mortgage company in 1991, tried to argue his own case and failed because

I think we can all recognise our own dear "Somerled" here!

So he's changed his name. I wonder what reason he gave Darat for wanting a different handle, when Darat obviously knows his real name anyway? That could have been fun. Now he's got the name of the first Lord of the Isles, the founder of the MacDonald clan, and his avatar is the badge of the MacDonalds of Sleat. Maybe he's got a yen to flip burgers?

So do we rename the Stundies the Kirkmans or the Somerleds, now?

Can't even tell what he's trying to say.

Rolfe.

There's something almost psychotically creepy and Gestapoesque about this Rolfe. I would actually be scared for myself if I was taking this much interest in someone in order to score a minor point on a forum.

It's a fair point. However, I'll have lost interest in him in a few days. Anyway, I didn't do all the work on that by a very long way. Most of it was done by others, with SpitfireIX getting most of the credit.

You see, I don't like people who lie about their personal circumstances in order to look big on a forum. Especially when they boast that they're so rich they could buy my house out from under me, and make numerous other slighting remarks. But you're right. It's not good to take this much pleasure in schadenfreude.

I'll go and debunk his photographs instead.

Rolfe.

Oh, please. Rolfe is embarrassed about the fact that Malcolm is British (I would be, too, just as I am embarrassed about any number of Americans who make fools of themselves online) and she wants the world to know the truth about him. And demonstrating that a poster has lied through his teeth about himself, especially in such an arrogant and condescending manner, is hardly scoring "a minor point."

Further, Malcolm insinuated that Rolfe and several other medical professionals here are incompetent by claiming that none of them understood the operation of IV drip bags. She and they have every right to expose Malcolm's utter lack of credibility.

Rolfe, I can understand that completely but it started to look a little spooky.

Are you a Brit then?

BTW thanks a lot for replying so courteously and shaming me for being so harsh on you! :o

mjd in the "conspiracy truths" thread (quoting from memory as I can't be arsed to go through that thread again and look at one more instance of the word 'propitious'):

"The evidence of coverup lies in the fact that is was covered up"

William--

Kudos on softening your views on Rolfe's behavior when shown additional evidence. I don't know if you've been following Malcolm's thread, but if you haven't, perhaps reading some of it would give you an idea of how incredibly obnoxious he can be.
