Julian Assange: rapist or not?

Mr Assange said:

“In the case we are in at the moment, where our major confrontation is with the West, although we have published material from many countries, RT is the natural partner.

There is an argument about this? What a sick joke.

he added:
“There's Julian Assange, enemy combatant, a traitor, getting in to bed with the Kremlin and interviewing terrible radicals from around the world. I think that's a pretty trivial kind of attack. If they actually look at how the show is made: we make it, we have complete editorial control, we believe that all media organisations have an angle, all media organisations have an issue.”
What a jackass

Assange on RT

You have fought against the hegemony of the United States.

Tis not that they love Assange so, it's that they hate America more.

I'd disagree with that. Many on the left have an "us and them" mentality (as do right wingers but manifests differently). This leads to some quite awesome rationalizations about how "up" is really "down". If you've ever sat with a bunch of Trots discussing ideology then you know what I mean. Put them in a room with Jesuits and find a way to convert rhetoric and sophistry to energy and solve the world's power needs for ever.
Lefty myself btw. One of the consequences of which is a strong belief that women have the right to bodily integrity.

Assange is a freedom of speech hero. In fact one of the best ever. He will go down in historical record books as an entrepreneur for civil liberties and freedom of speech.

No matter how much he is hated by certain national states, globally he has more support than most political leaders do.

lmaorofl! What the history books your stupid cult will write? (The Australian Hubbard way to go Khan!)

You're wildly ignorant as to his support. Have you ever seen a scientific poll on his support? Pluralistic ignorance to the core.

I have no idea what you just posted! please explain the refereed words so we can engage in more productive dialogue.

I'm not sure how my words were refereed. Who were these referees and what business do they have parsing my posts?

If you are not going to cooperate in the spirit of productive dialogue then consider this conversation over.

So you claim the popularity vote and then the moral high ground... what a delusional cult full of people with low self-esteem!

It's actually something I've noticed with the truther cult, as more and more people mock them and refuse to be friends with them the conversation had turned from how we've had the wool pulled over our eyes to how morally superior you all are. It's literally like a whining kid with their toy taken away calling us all big meanies.

You could have just admitted that you meant to say "referenced" instead of "refereed" and had a laugh. The scientific polls say support for Assange is not in the majority no matter what nation you look at, and former supporter Khan now considers Assange to be a cult leader. What is your problem? You expect respect while saying things that cannot be respected and use the ensuing insults as claims to disrespect, you're off your rocker.

"Today we are on the threshold of a change in human communications which is more powerful and perhaps more significant than all past changes in the technology of information. The way men deal with each other and with the distant world is about to be transformed by a combination of the computer, innovations in the transmission of signals, and new ways to feed images into this system and to take them out. All informational systems, including the news media, will be more intertwined with each other than they are today." This book focuses on what the content of daily information will be, what form it will be delivered in, and how it will be distributed throughout the population. It considers what the most likely technologies are that will change the way the next generation receives its news, what difference it makes in human affairs to have daily events reported rapidly, what the audience for news in the United States is like, and what some of the pecularities of the news in this country are. Some of the research done for this project on the social, economic, and technological forces that shape today's news in print and in broadcasting is reported. Finally, speculations are offered on what the new technical systems will do to the content and form of news in the United States during the remainder of this century.

I hope there is decent access to mental health services in your area.

Very poor form. I did not expect ad homs from a science forum. My family works in this field as a career, and if there was the slightest Chance I exhibit mental abnormalities they would be the first to tell me. I'm quite sane, I assure you. I just require empirical data to believe something.
