ON implies that the object can be larger than what it falls 'on to'. It can, at the same time then fall ON something else next to the object. IN implies that whatever falls "in" to something is at most the same size. It can't fall ON or IN anything else.

it makes sense to me

What the hell is he trying to argue now; that the building was empty, or that an explosive demolition would blast every single object within the building into unrecognizable bits?

As I like to maintain some impartiality here I would appreciate it if we could leave the debates to their respective threads. Bottom line is that if a Stundie needs to be explained in detail it kinda fails.
 
And in no way do I contract to be a part of the TWO.
