January Stundie Nominations

This post by ergo:

Dave Thomas, AW Smith, Oystein, TrutherLies, Triforcharity, Horatius, and a host of others, after spending two entire threads:

arguing that neither the Towers nor WTC 7 collapsed into their footprints (and thus "proving" how AETruth "lies") get bee-dunked by their own Dr. Bazant.

Yeah, it does get that stupid.

Yes, he still has no idea what the stundies are about.

Apologies to all the other nominators, but this month's stundie has been virtually guaranteed with this next post. My usual accompanied open jaw smilie doesn't even come close to doing this justice....

I believe there are actually two, identical moons that rotate the earth, one exactly opposite the other. The Moon actually orbits at half the speed we think it is and is closer than we believe. That is why we get TWO TIDES per day and not just the one we would get if there were just one moon.

There is actually one real moon (that the astronauts landed on) and a fake spaceship moon, positioned at exactly the opposite side of the earth. That is why we never see two moons at once.

Oh my. If he had only made it to the last paragraph of his first link:

With all the satellites, shuttles, and telescopes we've sent into space, it's an easy guess as to whether a mystery moon could be circling Earth. But it's fun to think that in the future some special asteroid might come along and make the moon a little less lonely.

It would have saved him a lot of trouble...

O my good god.

I thought I was onto the winner with Girlgye's vampire policemen, immune to everything except closed car windows (and maybe the damaging effects of aircon!). This however truly takes the biscuit though.

Wow. That's pretty much exactly the opposite of how orbits actually work....

Another offering from the Delusional Idiots forum:

I just looked out of the window and saw that the sky is glowing in a very intense red pink tone and its not from the sun it was all day dark outside very dark sky (raining) and now its even more dark outside but the sky glows very intense red and this now I don´t understand: The sky glows red and its dark when you look outside, like there is something what makes the sky glow red very intense. Who can explain this please? Does this has something to do with strange things you people speak about on this forum or what could this be? Maybe radioactive? Maybe this makes the sky glow red pink? And the rest of the streets looks a bit blue or dark blue tone... These pictures look exactly the same 50:50 like you see it with your eyes... perfect color of the original what you see with eyes... so I don´t understand this phenomenon... These pictures I made about 10 minutes ago.

Yep. This person is confused and afraid of a beautiful sunset.

The most idiotic claim is from Brian Good, who calls himself "Snug-Bug" from Screw Loose Change:

WAQo, Sunder told NOVA that THE BUILDINGS FELL in 9 seconds and 11 seconds. That's what he said.

For you to claim that he didn't is a lie.

Actually in the NIST Report, Sunder said:

NIST estimated the elapsed times for the first exterior panels to strike the ground after the collapse initiated in each of the towers to be approximately 11 seconds for WTC 1 and approximately 9 seconds for WTC 2.

So now we know what is going to cause the end of the world in 2012. The black hole of stupid that is the DI forums will become so dense that it will consume the world. Did anyone over there complain about manonthemoon saying that astronauts landed on the moon, or was the rest of his post crazy enough to pacify them?

I think reading those two posts (two moons and scary sunset) so closely together broke something in my brain. Everything tastes purple.

The old "just making **** up equals creativity" theory of management.

Years ago, I was working in a construction oversight field during the renovation of some offices in a large downtown high rise that had been vacated by an advertising agency (they built their own building). Anyway to make a long story short, the property manager told me that they had had to repaint one of the manager’s offices about once a month. It seems he liked to throw his food against the wall for creative inspiration.

In the case above, the manager is throwing feces against the wall for creative inspiration.
