Now that you mention it, wouldn't Jackson and Karr would make a cute couple?
Two white girls? Kinky, but Penthouse has been doing it for years.

Maybe some more cowbell is in order ...If you're going to rant, do it properly.
Perhaps on slow news days we should instead seek to watch a situation comedy or two. Even a soap opera. Heck, a re-run of Hee-Haw would d.

Think about what you're bitching about for a sec.
I heard K-Fed got crazy fresh street cred.
I miss the days when a thread with "buffoon" in the title was almost certainly about Bush.
CNN, meanwhile, made its lead story of the day (aired just half an hour before CBS News began its report of the news of the day) an account of an unconfirmed and uncorroborated report that a certain perv may or may not have said something that pervs are wont to say.
| Scientists have yet to develop an instrument sensitive enough to measure my interest in what the prevert ate and drank on his business class flight to Los Angeles. This was repeated so many times by so many different news organizations that I assumed there was some subtext to this that I was missing that would make this important to the case, or at the very least, remotely interesting. |
For the love of Edward R. Murrow, do they still teach in journalism school what makes a "lead" story for a serious news organization?
BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- The DNA sample taken from John Mark Karr does not match DNA found on JonBenet Ramsey's body when she was murdered in 1996, CNN affiliate KUSA is reporting.
KUSA, based in Denver, Colorado, quoted two sources in a bulletin on its Web site:
"9NEWS has confirmed from two sources that the DNA sample taken from John Mark Karr is not a match with the foreign DNA found on JonBenet Ramsey's body when she was murdered in 1996. 9NEWS has also learned the Boulder County District Attorney's office will not file charges against Karr in connection with the Ramsey case."
breaking news on CNN...DNA doesn't match.

CNN (per John Roberts) used the following language to describe the developments of the day (which you can read at http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0608/28/pzn.01.html):
"... huge surprises that seems to have the prosecution back at square one."
"Well, we're back to square one now, as far as the prosecution goes."
"... this astonishing case ...."
"... dramatic developments in the Ramsey case ...."
"... a day of bombshells ...."
The developments of the day were not disappointing or surprising in any fashion. The "top story" was, well, there was really no story in spite of all of the hype. It would have been a "bombshell" had there been a DNA match or other objective evidence to tie this slimy perv to the crime, but there was no such evidence, and therefore nothing to be surprised or astonished about.
I'll tell you why we should care about this bozo. He's been popping in and out of people's lives for nearly a decade, uttering cryptic, vaguely sinister nonsense and then vanishing without a trace without ever explaining why you've just struggled through 20 hours of video gaming.
