It's a Civil War: What We Do Now

Why don't we just call them The Baggers?

Because they went on TV and referred to themselves as "people who rest their testicles on each others' chins".

It's not our fault they did this, so I don't see why we should be so charitable, that is until they stop calling us "leftists" and part of the "democrat party". When the Teabaggers stop name calling, so will I.

Besides, it's just damn funny.

lets stop calling them Tea Baggers, when they stop calling Obama a Socialist, a Communist, a traitor, a dictator, and a non-citizen.

Edited for rule 2. I know it was not "racy", but still a little too close to the edge.

And leftist is offensive to a fairly moderate position.

And that would describe you?

Anyone who uses the term leftist knows exactly what image the term is meant to invoke (e.g., lenin…stalin…)

But in that case the image is appropriate. Lenin and Stalin were leftists. Indeed, many of the supporters of Obama's presidency supported the Soviet Union under Stalin. Whereas Linking Tea Party members to a pornographic term is in no way applicable.

Yes it is. Teabagging is also what twelve year old boys do on multiplayer shooters to your avatar's corpse to show how much smarter and better they are than you. It's childish, shows a lack of perspective, and a totally out of line sense of self-importance.

Exactly like so many Tea-Partiers.

My dad always calls them "tea baggers" (often followed by some expletives) and I'm 99% certain he's not aware of the testicle-related use of the term. He hates them more than I do, but I know he dislikes that type of crude humor. They may be stuck with it due to the less "hip" members of society I'm afraid. :)

Don't be disingenious. The vast majority of conservatives find the term extremely offensive. Certainly any who know what the term ... used by folks who probably mostly vote democrat in elections ... references. I think anyone who does know and uses it to attack a group that innocently used the term to refer to a very patriotic moment in American history is simply despicable. And surely every one here at JREF knows. So no excuses, FFM. You use it here and your use says more about you than the Tea Party movement members.

Sorry dude it is an age related term, not related to being in a political party. Epic fail on the aggreived martyr scale.

yes.

And they were also men. Why not use that classification? The point is that with you rather wide brush you are using, you are classifying moderate people with people who think that all industry should be government run. That is simply devoid of any reality.
Indeed, many of the supporters of Obama's presidency supported the Soviet Union under Stalin.
And many of the tea partiers are complete racists. What's your point?

Whereas Linking Tea Party members to a pornographic term is in no way applicable.
If that is your gripe, than you shouldn't object to people calling teapartiers or yourself fascist Nazis. Afterall, they came to power on the premise of nationalism and anti-liberalism.

Very well. If you don't even want Clinton to get any credit for lowering taxes, that's fine with me. Doesn't change anything else I said. :D

Well, I know he raised taxes for the top bracket. And revenues increased!

Today in the break room HLN had a thing about the Tea Partiers who are traveling to that town and I made the comment that I wished I had enough time and money to drive and fly around the country bitching about the government taking some of my money.

I remember when it was anti-Iraq War people protesting. Back then, Republican talking heads were ridiculing them saying that conservatives were too busy working to protest and most of the Iraq War protesters were lazy unemployed Democrats.

Funny, I don't hear that argument today.

Yeah, like that raving leftist looney Neil Cavuto on that Democrat-worshiping liberal mainstream media network Fox News!

Indeed, many of the supporters of Obama's presidency supported the Soviet Union under Stalin. .

Many supporters of Reagan, Bush 1, and Bush 2, also supporter Hitler during WW2. And Reagen supported them. Remember Bitburg?
