Is Bill Maher a bigot?

Re: Bill Maher mocking Christianity.

Why doesn't the Daily Show make more fun of the North Korean media? It's way, way worse than Fox.

Why did liberals criticize Bush more than Bin Laden?

Anyway, I'm disappointed Stewart/Colbert would even go through with this rally because it's so half-assed. If you want to go activist, then go activist. If you want to sardonically comment on why everyone sucks -- glorified Internet commenter* -- then do that. It's another reminder of why the Right will continue to kick the left's ass. Stewart favors same-sex marriage, pot-legalization, and universal health-care (called Obama's legislation "timid"; Republicans view the same legislation as a "takeover" of the health-care sector). Bill O'Reilly's opinions are more mainstream.

Those who say that Maher makes fun of Muslims to the same extent as he does Christians clearly do not watch the show.

BTW I'm an atheist too, but let's not pretend for a second that there is an equal amount of humor geared at Muhammed as their is Jesus.
Probably because Muslims do not influence our government as much. I poke more ty Xians myself because they effect me more

Guess I'm one of those wacky people who were affected by 3,000 of my countrymen getting murdered.

Sorry to hear that didn't affect you.

Oh, the extreme Muslims do effect people in a more extreme way, but way less Americans. Christian extremists, however, affect the entire USA albeit in a less extreme way.

I don't believe Bill Maher is a bigot.
I think he's a generally funny guy, who has a natural inclination towards free thought and free speech, and a suspicion of accepted truths, orthodoxies and the like.
His discussion shows were always worth watching IMO.

Now, I'm a theist, so when it comes to his movie Religulous, I watched it and found some parts funny, some parts questionable and some parts clearly him being too easily dismissive of things he clearly had not educated himself sufficiently about to try to take on a mocking stance.
Wrt the latter parts I was left with a feeling that he was trying to imitate Dawkins and surf the anti-religion money wave, for a great pension plan.

Whatever the case, I still find him amusing and worth doing a Youtube search for.
I'm sure he and I would get on great in real life.
