House Impeachment Inquiry

There are glass half empty people, and then there are people who smash the glass and drive the shards into their own eyeballs.

We just have to accept the new normal standards of our leadership. That includes open extortion through their office for personal gain, that is the new normal for all government officials and we should just accept it this brave new world.

A lot of the opening and closing remarks by both Schiff and Nunes are quite repetitive. Schiff seems to repeat about half of the same stuff. Nunes now has a litany that is about 80% the same.

To save some time just have them number their statements and call out the numbers before moving on with the hearings.

That is what lawyers do in opening and closing statements;both sides are tyring to build a case. I agree it gets repetitive but there are not meant to be enterainment shows.

Dr. Hill has an extremely commanding presence. She rambles, but she definitely gets her point across.

Academics tend to ramble;as anybody who has been to college can tell you. Occupational vice. Obama was guilty of that on occasion.

I wonder how long until the GOPers make a stink about her being a immigrant form the UK. Yes, I think that is about their style.

Rather like a kidney stone and equally painful.

And you thought this is bad, you ain't seen nothing yet! I mean look at all the new territory this has opened up for politicians and the great ways they can expand on it in the future.

It sucks but it's effective. As Zigg posted, people believe it.

The linked survey also says that a plurality of the people surveyed got their news about the hearings on Fox News, which has been portraying them as a complete failure that exonerates Trump and embarrasses the Democrats.

Well that's the most watched hypnotube channel in Yankistan, and it seems to have a variety of opinions on the issue between Carlson pro-Trump and the rest including Sanity Hannity against him.

I agree that Trump abused the power of his office for his personal gain. I want to scream every time I hear someone say it was ill advised but "it's not an impeachable offense". Like hell it isn't.

What the idiot talking point is today: No one heard Trump say it himself.

Are they going to say Rudy initiated the whole thing and Trump didn't know about it? Are they forgetting that Trump admitted knowing in his own 'perfect' letter?

Apparently they're going to try to.

PBS just now had some old white guy (I didn't catch his name, but he was obviously there to give that balanced POV appearance) say that very thing: no one that testified had direct knowledge.

And sure as ****, Judy Woodruff (PBS News Night) failed to challenge him with the obvious incriminating letter.

No it isn't.

It's the highest ranking basic cable network but lags far behind the major networks.

Schiff is presenting an excellent closing statement dismantling the GOP arguments.

"I want nothing!" is the new "I'm not a crook!"

That "plurality" is just 26%. And the bad news for Democrats isn't just that a majority oppose impeachment, but that the numbers are moving against them, particularly among independents. That can't be explained by Fox News.

His approval rating is still about 41 percent.

That survey shows 48% approval.

Besides these hearings are to damage Trump.

But they don't seem to be doing that. Different surveys can give different results, so I don't really care to argue whether 48% or 41% is the better number. The more important point here is which direction the numbers are moving. And the Emerson poll shows approval rating is going up for Trump (it was 43% last month), not down.

As I said, it's not working.

That’s a lot of dumb racists.

Jordan is, yet again, repeating the same old "Zelensky got the money without a meeting or investigation" spiel but ignoring the fact that the money was released just after the WH learned of the whistleblower's report. He's repeating the Pelosi "imposter" claim which he's misrepresented. He's repeating that "the Dems have never accepted Trump winning so they're out to get him, no matter what" and the "failed Mueller report" song and dance. This is all desperation because they know the evidence of a quid pro quo is strong and God forbid they hold Trump responsible for his abuse of office.

Jordan is nothing more than a Trump sycophant.

It will have worked if the stupid bitch isn't re-elected.
