Twins aren't just related. And yeah, you gotta read a little bit into it, just like you have to read a bit into "I'm a locksmith". But it's not that hard. Give it a try.
But it's a lousy joke for the Vindman case. In the locksmith case, the who explains the how. In the Vindman case, there's no connection between the who and the why. There's no reason to fire the twin brother of someone you fired. The only connection would be if the guy who is doing the firing was some sort of paranoid lunatic who wasn't satisfied with seeking revenge against one man, but against his whole family just for spite and......oh.....I get it.It ruins a joke when you have to explain it, but really, you should have been able to figure this out.
Who is Yevgeny Vindman, and why was he removed from the NSC?
He's Alexander Vindman's twin, and, he's Alexander Vindman's twin.
He's trolling. He won't give us a straight answer so we have to play 20 questions with him.
Asked on Face the Nation whether the firing of Vindman was justified Graham says Vindman was part of broader plot against President Trump by FBI Agents, CIA Agents and DOJ Lawyers.
Me too.I mean, the only way to make it work is if you also add, "...and Trump is a petty *******."

It kind of reminds me when my kids were first trying to figure out how to tell jokes. They would skip to the punchline without bothering to set up the premise, say "get it?", and then fall down laughing not understanding the relationship between setup and punchline.
In this case:
Q: Who are you and why were you removed from the NSC?
A: I'm Alexander Vindman's twin and I'm Alexander Vindman's twin.
I mean, the only way to make it work is if you also add, "...and Trump is a petty *******."

God damn, but you people are bad at comedy. You don't have to add that Trump is petty because everyone knows that. Just like you don't have to explain what it is a locksmith does.
Do you need dad jokes explained to you too?
I would love to hear someone try to justify the firing of Sondland.
You really should point out one of the essential ingredients:
Yes, they are twins and, more important, Trump is very, very petty.
You're Welcome!
Why do chicken coops have two doors? Because if they had four they would be chicken sedans, and coop sounds like coupe which is a word for a two-door car while a sedan is a word for a four-door car.
You don't have to say every ingredient of a joke when it's already understood.
1. He'd never do that.
2. Okay but he's not currently doing it.
3. Okay but he's not currently technically doing it.
4. Okay but everyone does it.
5. He's doing it, we can't stop him, no point in complaining about it.
6. We all knew he was going to do it which... makes it okay somehow.
7. It's perfectly fine that's he's doing it.

Trump thinks it's always other people's fault, too.
Would you say it was a perfect joke?
