Cont: House Impeachment Inquiry - part 3

I guess we'll just have to go with different definitions of the word "fire" then.

It usually means termination of contract of employment.

That didn't happen.

I guess there's how you choose to define "fire" and then there's how every media report defines it.

To fire: dismiss (an employee) from a job.

Are the Vindmans still at the NSC? No. Did they leave of their own accord? No. Did Trump order their removal from the NSC? Yes. You can dance around semantics all day long and into the night but it doesn't change the fact that Trump fired them.

Remarkable. Sen. Graham says he talked to AG Barr this morning and they have set up a "process" by which Rudy Giuliani will now send his Biden "dirt" directly to AG Barr.

2/ Here's the verbatim quote from Graham: Barr "told me that they had created a process that Rudy could give information and they would see if it's verified. Rudy Giuliani is a well-known man. He's a crime fighter. He's loyal to the president. He's a good lawyer."

Footage embedded in tweet.

But why remove his twin?

There’s a Leslie Nielsen movie with a scene where he walks into som guy’s office, and the guy asks him, “Who are you, and how did you get in here?” Nielsen responds, “I’m a locksmith, and, I’m a locksmith.” It’s a clever little setup.

There’s an implicit first question here of who is Yevgeny Vindman, with yours as the second question. Like the Nielsen questions, once you know the answer to the first one, you have the answer to the second one.

Asked on Face the Nation whether the firing of Vindman was justified Graham says Vindman was part of broader plot against President Trump by FBI Agents, CIA Agents and DOJ Lawyers.

Okay, who do you think Yevgeny Vindman is?

I occurs to me that all of the fired people should just put on hats and reapply for their former positions. We've been told that it works for voting.

Sondland has also been fired.
Apparently a group of Republican senators (including Susan "The president learned his lesson. He didn't? Oops" Collins) attempted to stop Trump from firing Sondland.

From: https://www.businessinsider.com/gop...ried-failed-stop-trump-firing-sondland-2020-2
...a number of GOP senators had feared the optics of Trump firing his own diplomatic official after the impeachment proceedings...Among those who tried to stop Trump was Sen. Susan Collins...the other Republican senators who tried to warn Trump were Sens. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Martha McSally of Arizona, and Thom Tillis of North Carolina.

Notice the article points out that they were concerned about the optics of firing Sondland, as opposed to whether it was the morally justified thing to do.

It ruins a joke when you have to explain it, but really, you should have been able to figure this out.

Who is Yevgeny Vindman, and why was he removed from the NSC?

He's Alexander Vindman's twin, and, he's Alexander Vindman's twin.

So Trump's scared Alex might sneak back into the White House pretending to be Yevgeny?

It doesn't work as a joke because it doesn't answer the second question, unless you consider merely being related to someone is grounds for them to be fired. That is not an obvious leap in logic to take.

eta: I understood the Leslie Nielsen gag, because it makes sense. In order for your analogy to make sense, who Yevgeny Vindman is would also hav to make sense as an explanation as to why Yevgeny Vindman was fired. Simply being Alexander Vindman's twin does not work as an explanation, so I assumed you knew some other aspect of who Yevgeny Vindman is that I did not. It seems you do not and were just not being funny.

Twins aren't just related. And yeah, you gotta read a little bit into it, just like you have to read a bit into "I'm a locksmith". But it's not that hard. Give it a try.

*sigh* okay, what do you think is the significance of being a twin that required Yevgeny Vindman to be fired? Does being a twin to someone who testified before congress make you more likely to testify before congress?
