homobigotry on mythbusters

Hmmmm..... Interesting thought. Is it ok to find stuff disturbing because it crosses what you percieve the borderline of homosexual behavior? Is the objection to what people consider potentially homosexual behavior? Or was that whole show just sex stereotypes and therefore sexist? My guess is it might be a very low level homophobia there but probably nothing to get worked up about. I had massages from guys and from girls but my favorite was from a naked girl. Does that make me a homophobe?

Sex stereotypes? You got a guy who like to cook, and a girl who likes to blow things up with explosives.

This whole thing is silly. It hearkens back to the thread about apologies/reparations for U.S. slavery. There, you were a racist if you thought apologies/reparations were a bad idea. Here you're a homophobe if you're uncomfortable getting a massage from a guy.

Goatse is a picture passed around the internet for being discusting. It is a man bending over and showing a very dilated anus.
Oh.

Thanks.

I guess I don't get around as much as I should.

I'm going to go gouge my eyes out now.

Was that Shrub bending for Dick or Karl OR John bending for Shrub In 2000 ( right after S. Carolina) and later:confused:?

So the idea that manly massage would be torture is because of perceptions of men or perceptions of homosexuality? I don't think anyone has said anything here that makes that distinction. From your description of homophobes then I am a homophobe if I don't know the massuer or if I know he is gay otherwise I am not a homophobe.

Immediate ban, no exceptions!

Actually the Blade Runner dvd was in the "relaxing" tent indicating it was one of Tori's favorite films.

That earned him kudos with me since it's one of my favorites as well.......I think I'll break out that Directors Cut DVD this weekend when I have some time.

My description of homophobes? I wasn't aware that I had described or defined a homophobe. As far as I'm concerned, a person is a homophobe if he dislikes gays for no other reason that the fact that they are gay.

I'm a rather vocal opponent of anti-gay bigotry and many here could verify this claim. I just watched the episode in question and I did not find anything offensive at all.

Tory is not gay. If Tory feels uncomfortable having another man touch his body I'd say he is entitled to feel that way. Nobody should be taken to task for their feelings alone. I did not hear Tory say anything that sounded like irrational fear or loathing of gay people. It is not irrational for someone to not enjoy being touched in an intimate way by some people. Tory did not express any loathing of people that are gay, at least not that I noticed.

Grant seems to be quite likely a gay man, yet he and Tory work together effectively.

As far as Adam's pretense of a French accent, I was reminded of Monty Python sketches, and it seemed to me that Adam might have been imitating the Monty Python
style of fake French accent. Some might see this as being in poor taste, but it hardly rises to the level of xenophobia. Look up the definition of the word.
(Wikipedia)

Doing an exaggerated accent for humorous purposes is hardly displaying fear or contempt. It was a joke.

Why do you think I have this outraaageouss French accent, you silly English pig-dog?

Doing a bad French accent is not xenophobic. It's done for comedic affect...whether you may think it funny or not.

I love massages and often have them when I'm at a hotel with a spa. I have had them with women, which I prefer, and men...even once by a transvestite. It was a bit weird at first but it was a highly professional spa and I was told upfront...I have always been accepting of other people's sexuality and figured I should walk the walk as well as talk the talk.

Are we sure that BladeRunner was in the relaxation tent because he liked it and not that it's so slow and pointless that it causes extreme drowsiness?

All this and no one has mentioned their clear anti-pirate and anti-ninja bigotry?

Note that Tori yelled "all right" when told of the Blade Runner dvd.
