EEeeeeewwww...only thing worse than a guy giving me a full body massage would be a fat guy giving me a full body massage. No, let me amend that. Only thing worse than a fat guy giving me a fully body massage would be a fat guy giving me a full body oil massage. No...still not quite there...the only thing worse than a fat guy giving me a full body oil massage would be a fat guy giving me a full body Thai oil massage.

*shudders*

Is the OP doing a bit?

That's not real, is it?

I thought that it was a joke at first. I was going to say " yeah that episode was totally gay ", but then I decided that he might be serious and called him soft instead.

To thread starter:

Ease down.

It isn't "homophobia" for Tory to become stressed when massaged by a guy anymore than it is "female surpression" for him to get all "excited" when massaged by Kari.

It's preference.

Get over your anal-retentive sensitivity.

There were additional bigotries in tonight's episode. It seems every time they cook something, Adam Savage has to do this really lame stereotypical French accent. I like my science without xenophobia, thank you very much.
I encourage you to start telling every Frenchman you meet that you don't believe France should be known internationally for its cooking culture.

I am not comfortable with anyone giving me a massage. I guess I just hate people.

Your peoplephobic attitude should not be allowed, and I for one am absolutely disgusted that the JREF would sponsor a place for you to practice your hate speech and thus support this sort of bigoted hateful anti-homo(sapien) attitude.

And all of you getting creeped out about a little mano-e-mano back rub, remember what GWB did to poor innocent Angela Merkel. Tori, if she could buck it up and stifle a grimace for that unholy touch, you should be able to tolerate a massage from a hot man stud.

Anybody want a bear hug?

I'm a big fan of the Mythbusters, and post regularly on their forum. I didn't see anything even remotely offensive in tonight's episode. Since when are funny accents demeaning? Jeez, I can remember way back to Sid Ceasar and his stable of ersatz languages...

As to the "man massage"....I'd note that it seemed to me the "torture" aspect was that it was particularly vigorous and painful, rather than homophobic....

I'm offended that he hates Blade Runner. Who in their right mind would hate that masterpiece?

That was my impression as well. It looked more like it belonged in the steak tenderizing bit than in the driving one.

Grant is gay? Drat, yet another one to file in the c'est la vie bucket.

Tonight's episode of mythbusters included an experiment to test if Tory and Grant would use more gas when driving stressed than relaxed.

In the experiment, they are primed with either relaxation or stress before driving a set-out course.

Tory's relaxation: watching the director's cut of bladerunner while getting a massage from a woman. An older, 'homely' looking woman.

Tory's stress: he enters the "torture" tent where he gets a massage from a man ("madd matt's man massage"). And no alternate movie watched.

So without even having to watch a movie he hates, just getting a massage from a man is not only stress, but is literally called torture.

This bigotry against homosexuals is intolerable, and should not be condoned in such a manner by either Mythbusters or the Discovery Channel.

Then Tory had to catch himself from saying "x is a bitch" in front of Kari. If it's wrong to say it in front of a woman, it's wrong to say it at all.

Misogyny, homophobia, and xenophobia, all in one episode.

You're seeing something that's not there. Get out more....

Oh, for ****s sake.

I guess that makes me a homophobe for feeling ill at ease when a friends bi-sexual mother decided to hit on me when I was 16.

Only one problem with that: I have several gay friends.....

Must be great to see the omnipresent imaginary bigot, homophobe, racist or nazi JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE.

I hate being touched especially from a massage and especially by a male masseuse. Does that make me a homophobe?
