Hillary Clinton is Done: part 3

It's too bad that none of that is true. Why not write your own thoughts instead of cutting and pasting others?

Every word of it is true. And those are my "own thoughts", in my own words -- sentiments now shared by the majority of voters.

Hillary's original motivation for having a private server was to circumvent transparency laws (FOIA). And when questioned about her improper use of a private server, she then lied to Congress while under oath (perjury). New polls indicate that the majority of voters (67%) now consider her to be a "dishonest and untrustworthy" liar.

Look, we know exactly why she did it: so she could screen the emails that would be released. She wasn't selling state secrets to the Russians (although I wouldn't put shenanigans at the Clinton Foundation past her).

Still, even though she's a liar (and probably a crook), her core principles are in-synch with mine and she's not ******* crazy. So the lying crook will get my vote. Hopefully 2020 or 2024 will be better.

Almost all of it is true. Why else would she set up a private server? Privacy is probably the least nefarious explanation. And yes, 67% of people think she's dishonest and untrustworthy.

The perjury thing is a Rightwing fantasy.

Of course the email scandal is a whole litany of what's wrong with Clinton. It will go down as a textbook case of how NOT to handle a scandal.

We're just starting to see the fallout from it, and it's godawful bad news for Clinton. In two major polls post-email (CBS and NBC), 66% of people view Clinton as dishonest and untrustworthy.

If Clinton can't get those numbers down, and she wins, 2/3 of America will think their president is a crooked liar. I don't think even Nixon was ever this reviled.

Is this a Poe?

And I can't wait for Donald's comments on the attacks in France if they are what we all fear they are.....

Oh, you can imagine what he'll say. We can practically write the script for him. But I don't think he'll gloat about his idea to ban Muslims again. That was terrible, politically, when Orlando happened. Well, just terrible in every way.

Trump is on Fox News right now discussing the latest terrorist attack in France.

Meanwhile, Hillary hasn't held a press conference since December -- she's afraid someone will ask her an embarrassing question. So add coward to her long list of disqualifiers.

If Trump said the moon was made of Cheese, you would cheer him on.
Just be honest and admit you don't care what Trump's positions are,you want him elected because you thing he will wreck the "Establishment". That is all that matters to you.

It just boggles my mind that with some members of the public Hillary Clinton has become the face of political corruption. She was my U.S. Senator for eight years and I don't remember any scandals. She's not perfect, she's not a saint, but she's far from the most corrupt politician out there. I wouldn't even put her in the top 1,000.

What she is, is an example of how the Republicans -- especially the very conservative and/or reactionary Republicans -- know how to do a very effective hatchet job on someone. That if they decide to smear someone, as they've proven, they're the masters. What they've done to Hillary Clinton they could do to anyone.

Historical Gallup polling shows over the past twenty-five years Hillary Clinton's favorable/unfavorable ratio was pretty good. In some years it was spectacular. She hit a few bumps in the road but always recovered. But look at the numbers over the past three years:

  • July 2014 - Favorable 55%; Unfavorable 39%;
  • July 2015 - Favorable 43%; Unfavorable 46%;
  • July 2016 - Favorable 40%; Unfavorable 55%.

The most frustrating part of this is, I think a lot of the people who continually bash her don't really believe a lot of it either. They know there's a lot of hype and exaggeration involved. But by being able to always cite Clinton's "dishonesty," as the reason they're against her they're able to avoid discussing her policies. What there is about her policies they don't like.

And that's the goal: move the discussion away from policies and programs and make it personal. With some people it works. The problem for the Republicans is, they have demonstrated this type of smear campaigning works much better in local races than in national ones.

Clinton's pulling a Trump, calling in to O'Reilly's program re the latest terrorist attack. She's brave to argue with Mr 'Kill the Mic'. He is cutting her off but she has answers to his questions.

Great job, he argued and she got the last word.

Next, O'Reilly made an open call for Trump to call in.

Now O'Lielly is giving his unopposed opinion.

Politics is a strange game. It's as much or more about perception than it is about reality. Both Ben Gazzi and the emails from the beginning through to the end was all about politics. If Hillary would have announced 2 years ago that she wasn't going to run for president both would have disappeared from the public eye a year ago and no way would it have played out this way. Prominent Republicans admitted as much multiple times and then backtracked from those remarks.

The goal was always to damage Clinton and make her unelectable making it easy for the Republicans to retake the White House. Why do you think that they got a judge to order all the emails to be released in timed batches over the last 18 months?

Hillary and the Democrats got lucky when the Republicans nominated Trump as their standard bearer. If Hillary is a dirty politician which I don't think she is, Trump is just plain dirty through and through. I'm amazed that not just the press but that so many people are willing to dismiss the avalanche of lies and falsehoods he spews on them as if they can trust him about anything.

And while I don't think Trump is stupid, I do believe he immensely ignorant and is lazy about learning.

I also think Trump is a yuuuuge step back in race relations. It's like Bull Connor is following Martin Luther King.

Ah, memories..... Remember, oh two weeks ago? The Brigadier of the HDS Brigade thought it was funny to offer up the slogan "Not Indicted Yet".

Now they're reduced to "Let's prosecute because the FBI clearly said she was CARELESS."

Will we have the House Committee on Careless Activities? Is an amending convention far behind? Topics to be discussed: State freedom to impose restrictions on Swimming Within an Hour After Eating, Running with Scissors, and the problem on everyone's mind, You'll Put Your Eye Out. I assume that the amendment will make all of these violations of federal law if you're a Democrat.

Should there maybe be a new cabinet position? Secretary of Slippery When Wet and Using the Correct Stairway.

Democrats ‘freaked out’ about polls in meeting with Clinton

Nervous Senate Democrats raised concerns with Hillary Clinton during a private meeting in the Capitol Thursday over a recent poll showing Donald Trump leading or tied in several battleground states.

The sense of uneasiness among Senate Democrats is heightened by their observation that Trump has stayed within striking distance in pivotal states despite being vastly outspent.

NBC News reported this week that Clinton’s campaign and allied super-PACs have spent $57 million so far, while Trump’s campaign hasn’t spent anything, and two allied outside groups have spent only $3.6 million.

Team Clinton has outspent Team Trump in nine battleground states by a 40-1 ratio, NBC reported.

Hillary's tainted money from foreign governments won't rescue her sinking campaign -- even when spent at a whopping 40-to-1 ratio. The woman is a choke artist, and she'll drag a good many Democrats down with her in a lopsided and humiliating defeat come November.

To be fair the news story says "some Democrats were freaked out." I liked this quote from the link provided above:
A senior Senate Democratic aide, who was not in the meeting, acknowledged that senators have raised concerns about the closeness of the polls at other times. “We wouldn't be Democrats if there weren't a few bed-wetters,” the aide said.
But the Democrats are conceding it will be a close race. One of the big concerns is that recent polls showed Trump up 42% to 39% in Florida where Clinton had an 8-point lead last month. The Quinnipiac University poll showed Trump up 2 points in Pennsylvania, another big swing state, and tied in Ohio. The three states have been pivotal in the last four presidential elections. The email incident and the recent FBI criticism have obviously hurt Clinton.

I think one of the factors that helps narrow the difference between what the Clinton campaign is spending and what Trump is spending, is the huge amount of media coverage The Don gets. Polls also show about 20% undecided and I suspect a lot of those voters will eventually decide for Clinton.
