Ok, this is too funny.

Correct me if I am wrong.. but wasn't Dylan at some point in his life:
a) 20 something and unemployed
b) A pissed off internet junkie standing outside theaters handing out something he printed (United 93)
c) Putting subtitles over other people's hard work

And I really, really, doubt that Marky will have to pay $10 to see LC:FC. If it even does come to theaters, it comes to BitTorrent :) No one here is going to pay to see your garbage Dylan.

Indeed, he was all of those, very recently.

And I predict that he will be all of those again, very soon.

To summarize:
  1. In december, PDoherty76 opens a thread on LCF claiming he has had an epiphany and was now a debunker. That thread has been deleted.
  2. He posted the same claim on conspiracy-smasher. Yesterday he deleted that claim.
  3. A few weeks ago he admitted on LCF that it was a ruse. That thread has been deleted.
  4. Yesterday he denied the whole silly story on LCF. Someone opened a thread on LCF confronting him with the evidence. He then claimed that it was ... his little brother. :)
    Of course, that thread has been deleted too. (I saved it though.)
We can (and should) joke about this specific story.

However, the way this part of the so-called "Truth Movement" deals with concepts as truth, honesty, transparence is no joking matter.
It at least explains how they can believe that thousands are lying to cover up horrendous crimes: they simply project their own standards.

I think that he has now completely lost the plot. It is simple a case of forget the truth, forget we are talking complete and utter garbage, just keep repeating it as offer as possible and to as many people as possible.

It's actually quite sad, kind of like a little kid who keeps asking for a sweetie, in the hope that eventually somebody will crack and give him one.
 
He's turned 9/11 into a personal feud between him and the evil JREF'ers in my opinion. His main goal is to embarrass, defame, attack and humiliate us. He doesn't give two [rule8]'s about the victims or what happened on 9/11, he's made it all about him.

Important point - what someone believes is not as important as how they've arrived at their conclusions. It's very easy to believe something that's true for the wrong reasons. The most dangerous ally is someone supporting your position using invalid reasoning.

Well, let's see: Does Do-Over have any other job, or source of income? Is he living on the street, eating out of garbage cans? If not, then he must be making some profit from LC, right?

That and the whole "Loose Change Store" lol. Selling LC:2E for $25 a piece and claiming it's "barely above cost price" etc.Jason Bermas even bragged on a radio interview with "Food is not love" that he was living off the money earnt from Loose Change and didn't even need a job.

I personally hate it every time a thread gets started here with a name in the subject. As in, "Look what Killtown's saying now!" or "That crazy 911TruthSword is at it again!"

It makes all this look like it's more a battle between personalities than an exercise in critical thinking, an internet flame war rather than a cold, logical filtering of the truth from B.S. that benefits everyone.

It would be great if this forum could serve as a sort of repository of clean, well thought-out rebuttals to each idiotic claim for people to find who are curious (search engines lead lots of readers here, after all). But emotion gets the best of us and instead what they find is threads that are 20% fact finding and 80% frustruation and snide insults thrown back and forth.

I totally understand why; people like killtown deserve our insults. But you have to admit it does very little to advance the cause of truth and critical thinking.

I disagree. We actually provide a valuable public service by highlighting the absurd, inane, paranoid rants which some indulgein over at LCF.

Even if it doesn't make the posters stop and think, it probably does make the mods and admins more sensitive about allowing the more vile rants to remain.

I liken it to the effect this forum (and others) has on the actions of the 'truthers'.

Would Avery have apologised for insulting the victims of 9/11 if it hadn't been criticised by more rational thinkers?

Would Bermas have backpedalled so embarassingly regarding the complicity of the FDNY if it hadn't been highlighted by members of this forum?

Similarily, it was only the outcry over a holocaust denier being associated with their forthcoming little 'truther' conference which resulted in him being demoted to coffee boy. Without that outcry, produced again by critical thinkers, would they have been bothered by his extremist views?

The 'truthers' in my opinion, believed the internet was going to be THEIR playground and have been rather surprised to find that they cannot in fact produce websites regarding other peoples tragedies without criticism, and they cannot produce their little internet videos full of lies without someone else producing another version highlighting those lies.

And, on the subject of the insane person known as pdoherty, how easy his life would have been if he had been able to make his wild claims about his flip flopping without someone here having archived his previous embarassing rants?

So, no, I don't think we should stop posting and ridiculing those in the truth movement.... for their own good.

This is the only time they get close to having facts, talking about jref posts. They have no facts so they must observe where so many have lost debate on facts alone. (funny how any post of a round earth are gone on LCF and the flat earth postion is the only truth allowed)

If only they had some facts on 9/11 to support anything LC.
