The "Going for the Gold" slogan does seem kind of weird to me. I am a Ron Paul supporter and I along with many others are dissapointed with the campaign. He made close to 30 million in 2007 (20 mil. in the last quarter) and has made close to 4 million so far this year. They are just simply not spending the money. The only reasoning I can come up with is that they are saving some of it for an independent run, because he's still a long shot for the Republican nom. Perhaps they are just using the party to get him as much attention as possible. If he does run as an independent the Republicans are screwed and it almost gurantees a Democrat in office.

I think when his campaign is all said and done he will either be the president, or at the very least have started a movement in this country.

Well thats the peoples choice. They can choose to buy Ron Paul signs or choose to make their own. A lot of the meetup groups around the country get together and make their own signs. I guess it kinda shows initiative.

Having said that I must note that there are some very "loud" Paul supporters on FSU's campus. I have a couple in my class and I've been trying to get them to do speeches in my class about why people should vote for him. If they give me permission I'll post them here.

Yes there are plenty. Ron Paul has said many times he does not support the 9/11 truthers or white supremecy. Going back to the gold standard probably isnt going to happen and he knows this. I think his point is that we need to move away from a fiat currency. The North American Union, like RP said, is a bunch of elite butt munchers idea of the future. Mexicos former president has talked openly about the NAU and so has the Prime Minister of Canada.

Most Ron Paul supporters like myself simply belief that the constitution is sacred and it is hanging by a thread right now. Our founding fathers fought against the centralized power of the bank of england. They knew what happened when too much power was concentrated in one place. This is what is happening in our country. We are on track to becoming socialist (social democrocy technically) like Europe and Canada. A lot of people really really dont want this to happen and believe in lassie fair economics and the Von Mise school of thought. This is why he has so much support. Not because of the 9/11 truthers or any other really small group.

There were many reasons the pilgrams came to America. To escape religious persecution was a big one. Being taxed by the Bank of England was another big one, and yes Franklin did say that was the prime reason for the war. The founding father had other ideas for how an economy should be set up and centralized power was not part of their ideas.

Again, read the Declaration of Independence. If it was such a big reason behind the Revolution, surely it would have appeared in the Declaration, wouldn't it?

And Benjamin Franklin did NOT say ANYTHING of the sort. I'm betting, though, that you think he did because of a quote that is claimed to have come from his autobiography, am I right?

Every dollar he takes from an Alex Jones, a Dylan Avery, or a HH, I have no issue with...let him buy twinkies for all I care. It is the hundreds of duped people, gullible enough to give him money when HE KNOWS, and his DIE HARD SUPPORTS KNOW, he really doesn't have a chance...It's those people I feel bad for.
