Gay rights vs Trans rights?

I think men can have sex without being homosexual, and I believe that that can happen without rape. It seems really simple to me, thus my question.

What men have sex with other men when they are not Gay??

Seems like its only a prison rape thing.

As are men who have sex with men but who don't identify as homosexual.

from Oxford languages

homosexual
/ˌhəʊmə(ʊ)ˈsɛkʃʊ(ə)l,ˌhɒmə(ʊ)ˈsɛkʃʊ(ə)l/
adjective
adjective: homosexual

sexually or romantically attracted to people of one's own sex.
"campaigning by homosexual men and women for an end to social and legal discrimination"
involving or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction or activity between people of the same sex.
"homosexual desire"

noun
noun: homosexual; plural noun: homosexuals

a person who is sexually or romantically attracted to people of their own sex.
Men who have sex with other men but aren't sexually attracted to men? What are they identifying as?

It's a common enough thing that sexual health clinics, public health authorities, researchers etc use the denominator MSM as it's own category (in the UK at least don't know if the same code is used elsewhere).

There are typically hetro-romantic and hetrosexual, but also have sex with men for a wide variety reasons, but the main reaons I've encountered is simplicity (just an easy way to mechnically get off) and prostitution. It's a varied thing though and the numbers are relatively small (rough estimate that only around 5-10% of those involved in homosexual activities would not identify as Gay or BI and so would fall into the MSM category).

Nothing to do with rape at all. It can read confusing with the multiple use of the word men in the same sentence, I'll pop a (A) next to one of the usage of "men" below to make it clear which group I mean.

There are men (A) that have sex with other men and those men(A) do not identify as being gay or bisexual, the men they(A) have sex with may identify as gay or bisexual or they themselves may also not identify as gay or bisexual or even homosexual.

Sadly it took the AIDS crisis to bring this to light, but since then it is as you say a recognised subset, one that is difficult to target messages to. A recent concern was getting information about the latest Monkeypox outbreak to the MSM grouping.

From my understanding and personal experience it is the homo-romantic aspect of a gay or bisexual identity they don't identify with.

But does it mean they are not homosexual, just because that's not what they call themselves?

Depends on how you define the word homosexual, if you mean it to mean people who only have sex with the same sex then no as they usually also have sex with women, so I'd say they are not homosexual.

It's a very diverse group and are interesting in a thread like this as it shows "gay" and "bisexual" are identities.

Straight men do not have sex with other men.

Unless they are engaging in rape for the purpose of power and abuse.
