And you don't. I think most people familiar with your beliefs understand that you value individual freedom so much more highly than any other quality, including survival of the human species, that you feel it should never under any circumstances be curtailed in any way. Others work from different axioms that allow individual freedom to be compromised because its value is not considered overwhelming. Having said that, this discussion is effectively over.

Fox News talking idiot, Laura Ingraham, has really upset Kiwis after claiming that we are setting up Quarantine Camps and imprisoning anyone that refuses to have a Covid-19 test and that Biden and the Left want to do the same in the US, forcing Americans to give up their freedoms.

The reality is that she is mixing up present day life in New Zealand with Managed Isolation that only for those that are travelling to New Zealand from overseas, or those very few people who have tested positive or are close contacts with those that have. The "Facilities" that Jacinda Arden speaks about are not camps, but rather Government paid for 4-Star Hotels where those in Quarantine are getting treated like any hotel guest would, except for the ability to leave the Hotel until they have completed their 14 days.

We haven't given up any freedoms, other than the freedom to be a jerk and potential spread the disease about the country, and it is this sort of measure that is the exact reason that we do only have 25 deaths.

Once again Fox's talking heads prove how much idiotic and woefully ill-informed they are, and then spread those lies and garbage on to their gullible viewers.

Look the goal for the destruction of new zealand has been clear and well known for a long time. Why else would it be absent from maps?

We once had a political party that had the removal of New Zealand from all world maps as a major policy. They claimed to have "disbanded" a number of years back, but I think that they went undercover, and have now very nearly succeeded in their goal!

This one has been beaten to death so meh. All I will add is that Managed Isolation is a requirement for coming to New Zealand. You need to agree to it to come here, if you don't agree to it, then you can choose not to come.

Managed Isolation is not something that has any effect on anyone already inside of the borders of the country, only those who want to cross the border into the country. As such no-one in New Zealand is giving up any freedoms there.

If you, or someone close to you, get infected then you might have to give up some freedom, but that is the case with any highly infectious disease where quarantine is required, so again, not really freedom being lost there either.

Committing a crime by not undergoing detention is not the same thing as being detained for a crime.

Actually being in Managed Isolation is a requirement you must meet in order to travel here, it is something you agree to. What is a criminal offense is leaving Managed Isolation before your isolation period is completed. In other words, you make a contract with the Government to Isolate for 14 days in order to come here, and if you break that contract then you are criminally liable for breaking it. You can also refuse to be tested on days 3 and 12, but that will mean your required isolation is extended for another 14 days to 28 days total. This is what you agree to before coming here. It is not something being imposed on people already inside the country.
