Fox News goes totally insane over Covid-19

In your haste to find the smilie and think of the perfect snarky "spoiler", you skipped over the words "per capita" in my post. In which NY is #1 among states, see your own link.
Thanks, I did miss that and stand corrected.
And I wasn't being overly snarky... it just didnt feel right that NY state would lead in GDP percentage.

Sorry guys, but being island nation, especially small one, makes fighting with COVID-19 significantly easier, all other things being equal.

Feel free to fervently pretend otherwise.
'Britain' is an island too. And yet, thanks to their current governmental mix of abysmal incompetence, indifference to suffering, unwillingness to listen to expertise and gross venality they have a very severe, ongoing, Covid-19 problem, to the tune of over twenty thousand new infections and four hundred dead today alone.

I think what has made the UK's response unique is that we've managed to combine some of the worst death rates with some of the worst economic damage whilst at the same time managing cronyism and corruption that banana republic dictators would be proud of.

Provided you keep them locked in your room with you for two weeks, sure!

My friend is the former president of the AMA. He told me that the security guards were letting hotel isolation passengers use the security guard's cigarette lighter and he thinks this may have been a significant virus transfer method, as many people in isolation shared the same lighters.

It's an interesting and simple hypothesis.

Door handles?? Lift buttons??

One of my criticisms of CNN is how much it's Internatonal coverage has declined in recent years.

I wasn't following the entire conversation. It had something to do with smokers and that quarantine guests didn't touch each others door knobs, but somehow could smoke on their own floors after asking security guards permission or to bludge cigs and lights from the guards.

I'll ask him again.

According to a Financial Review reporter covering the hearing, contact of this nature was not the cause.
“ In the end, salacious stories of security guards sleeping and sharing kisses and cigarettes with guests proved to be fantasy.
The key factual finding according to counsel submissions was that the infection leaked from the Rydges Hotel because of "environmental contamination" rather than person-to-person contact.”
Admittedly that article was from late September, but from the hearing more recently,
How COVID-19 was transmitted from returned travellers to staff and the chain of events that led to the spread in the community has not been determined, the department said.

"It would be unsafe to make a finding that 'the movement of the virus through the barriers of quarantining is responsible for some 99 per cent of the recent COVID-19 infections in Victoria'," the department submitted.

For the last couple years, yes -- it's been all Trump, all the time. They do have an International desk show about 3am local but The PDJT is usually the lead story.

I understand that FOX doesn't even have an International division, and that some countries keep them out.

I guess they decided that American Politics is what brings in the ratings.....
I also dislike the demise of actual newscasts, they being replaced by "Personallity Driven" shows.
