Face, meet leopard. Leopard, meet face.

I guess most of these small business owners don't really know or remember that Donald Trump built his real estate business by employing smaller businesses to do the actual construction and then not paying them. When they sue him for payment, it's cheaper for him to pay lawyers to stonewall them in court than to pay them for work done. Trump has no love whatsoever for small businesses. They always were, and remain, his preferred prey.

I've been listening to "Commander in Cheat" on audiobook (highly recommended by the way) and he recounts an architect who invoiced for $110,000, was offered $39,000 and wound up getting $25,000; it doesn't sound like this was exceptional.

To be fair, Petersen is more of a far right right personality and grifter cosplaying a small business owner. His radio and TV gigs brownnosing Trampy will keep the wolves from the door.

I don't understand how these business owners could do something like this. How can they be intelligent enough to run a business and yet not smart enough to figure out that it might be a very bad idea to tell their (potential) customers that they support a particular brand of U.S. politics?
I can see it if they are in an area that is 90% MAGA, but even then, why miss out on the 10% that aren't?
Businesses have been doing this for years. There are hundreds or thousands of businesses that proudly display their ideological positions. This isn't new - the only thing that borders on new is that some businesses that aren't explicitly churchy are now emboldened to express support for conservative ideals. Businesses have been hollering their progressive bona fides for years with minimal consequence.

It's easier to get away with it when the ideological position is based on love rather than hate.

Exactly where my thoughts went. Progressives generally allow anyone of any faith, sexual preference, race, etc. to shop at their stores. Conservatives tend to be biased against multiple different people based on protected status. It was in the best interest of conservative business owners to keep quite. Now that we've found out there are a metric ◊◊◊◊ ton of Americans who are racist douche bags, companies don't have a lot of hesitation in owning it, but they're still losing people which makes them play victim. Hence Emily's post.

It's easy to say crap like this when you have black and white cultish thinking.

Of the two political parties, people who align with _________________ have brought cases to the SCOTUS in order to deny services to people they don't approve of?

A) Conservatives
B) Progressives
