Cops eat free at all-night donut places.Way better than a "police commendation", they'll get to be the only restaurant chain open in the entire area, with all the business.

Oh, great idea. That really worked out well for the US last time those two countries were in conflict.
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, and this LA times cartoon is the best summing up of Alex Jones I have seen....

The sad thing is that there is a poll on that site and 42% say that moron's statement aren't beyond the pale. I would seriously like to see somebody just pound the **** out of that guy.
Alex Jones needs to stand next to the next bomb.
I was only stating from personal experience working the counter at an all-night donut shop in Worcester.Around here they don't. Not if they want to remain cops.

The comments section on any newspaper website are a hive of stupidity and craziness. What is surprising is that it does not seem to matter match if the paper is a respected one like the LA Times, the WAPO, or the NEw York Times, or a tabloid.
I've been known to troll comment sections. It's fun!!!![]()
<snipped interesting commentary>
Currently most, if not all, active rebel or outright terrorist groups are of Islamist character. Chechnya is currently relatively peaceful although it is still a poor, corrupt, backwards ****hole run by a tyrant. Most terrorist activity is actually in Dagestan which is right besides Chechnya.

If Bush set up 9/11 and Obama caused the Boston bombings, at least it's a sign of bi-partisanship between the democrats and republicans.
Getting so sick of these "he was a really good guy" comments. He was a "really good guy" in the same vein that Chris Benoit was a "really good father".
I overheard (while reading here) on one of the cable networks that the father of the suspects left the U.S. and currently resides in Dagestan. I think that the uncle mentioned it during his interview. I'll see if I can find a link, but Arcade's note about the location of terrorism got my attention. I'll ETA if I find anything.
btw--a talking head on MSNBC just supported what Arcade pointed out about Dagestan.
ETA LA times story about father believing sons were set up. Father is living in Dagestan according to report.
Ya gotta wonder if Alex Jones is on the phone this minute with his buddies at "Russia Today" trying to arrange an interview.........

I'm not aware that they are here. I may be misinformed, but I believe that there is nothing illegal about listening, but it is illegal to act upon anything you hear. Of course, I suspect they're digital here now as well.I take it police scanners are not illegal in the US, like they are in the UK?
In the video he shot inside his hut in the mountains of Dagestan last winter, William Plotnikov narrated as he panned from the black flag of jihad to three bearded rebels and their assault rifles.
Then he turned the camera on himself.
“I ask Allah that the next season he’ll give us the opportunity to kill as many kafirs [non-believers] as we can, just to shred them to pieces,” William said. “Allah is almighty.”
...
What seemed to amaze Mr. Plotnikov most was how fast it all happened. His son only became interested in Islam in 2009, he said. Within a year, he had left Canada and by July he was dead. He had gone from convert to martyr in less than three years.
