Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

...This kind of thing is the basis of the conspiracy forum.....
Right, as if any of this is more than interesting speculation.

Just because people are discussing what they see doesn't tell you the degree of certainty or how wedded to the conclusion they are. You need to know that to make the charges you are making. You are no better with your own speculating about motive and conviction that people here have about what they are discussing.

Young in early mid 20's male, backwards hat, hoodie under a coat, blue jeans.

OWS type of protester detected. And lets not forget that they did already try to bomb a bridge in April of last year. I'd be looking at old photos of past Occupy protests for these guys.

Use sophisticated algorithms to blow up some pixels, like in CSI? And to think people mocked CSI here.
That's not what I meant. I meant they must have gone over their images with a fine toothed comb to find that one tiny group of pixels.

I was just kidding. The superzoom and pixel enhancing capabilities as displayed in CSI are hilarious.

Wrong target. The marathon is a people's event, not a 1% anything event. There's no reason one could connect OWS to this target.

Meanwhile, on CNN's comment section pretty much everyone has figured out they're:

1. Middle Eastern
2. muslim
3. not just suspect, but guilty

Chris Matthews is speculating worse than we are. :p He's saying the layered clothing suggests they just flew in from somewhere else.

The Boston Globe has published some details.

In summary, they have footage of white hat dropping a backpack and walking away. Within about a minute there is an explosion at the drop spot. Dark hat is not seen dropping any backpack but they must be able to link the two guys. They know which direction white hat walked away, but not where dark hat went.

There is only one shredded backpack being shown everywhere and it is black. White hat is seen in the images carrying a tan backpack.

If I were on my way to a terrorist attack and normally wore jeans with holes in them, I'd wear a suit. If I normally wore a suit, I'd wear raggedly clothes. I don't think we can make much inference from what they were wearing.

The shoes don't match, neither does the backpack (no X on the back). I think of all the images on the IMGUR link, they all look like false alarms. The two exceptions are the guy in black bent over the bag on the ground. You cannot see what he looks like so he is still consistent with the suspect in front. And the second one is the guy (maybe the same guy) crouched in the doorway after the bomb blast at the first site. Check out the hat. But he still has the backpack so that's inconsistent.

Do you suppose he could have had a backpack inside a backpack? Or maybe the hat doesn't really match?

The person bending over could also be a woman tending a child in a stroller with her partner looking on. As far as I can tell neither of the 2 suspects appear in the 4chan photos.

Has any footage of the actual drop been released? I'm not aware of any yet...

Not that I know of. That footage may not show the face properly and is worthless to the public as a way of identifying.

All of the stuff they released shows the faces from different angles. They want the public to see good images of the faces.

The #1 sponsor for the event is John Hancock Annuities, if that isn't 1% then I don't know what is. I also said "Occupy-Type". Occupy has even admitted that it has attracted Anarchists to their events and that it was a problem. Adding in that the suspects look like what many of the OWS people were looking like in dress and that it's been almost a year since the last failed OWS bombing plot was foiled. There's enough there to warrant a closer look.

But it looks like a #7 on the side of the suspect's hat.

It looks like a 3 here.
