Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

I still think that there is just so much video and pictures. I just can't imagine the person or people involved didn't find themselves on tape.

That's my thinking. I still hope the FBI is just being coy because they're closer to catching them than they want to let on. Also, a sieving of the bajillion tips they're doubtless getting from the public should turn up someone who heard someone talking about something like this.

Real life investigations are not like an episode of CSI where everything is wrapped up in a hour.
I am sure that this investigation is now has a abosolute highest priority in the DOJ, and they have been given the green light for whatever expendature in manpower and money needed to solve it.
And the bitter fact is that in most cases dozens of false leads are investigated before they find the one that is real.
Real life ain't like a TV Show. It is shocking how many people don't get that.
But this isn't the type of crime that someone should be able to get away with. (I doubt the perps even expected to get away for long.)

Remember, we had the names of Terry Nichols and Tim McVeigh something like 2 days after the OKC bombing, and they were caught not terribly long after that. (IIRC, that was solved primarily through tracing the van rental.)

Maybe it takes more man-hours to sift through all the tips and all the images of the scene to solve this one, but I still hope they've already got more info than they're letting on and just don't want to scare the guys off as they close in on them. (Or maybe they already "have" one or two they can pick up whenever they want, but have reason to believe others were involved and want to get as many as possible.)

4chan would have skipped right over the backwards hat guy because his backpack is brown and not bulging.

FBI: "We may not be the sharpest tools in the shed, but we're sharper than 4chan."

The Feds must have much more footage because these images and YouTube clip do not show anything specifically that would implicate them.

A friend and I always have bulging backpacks at many a public event, but they're filled with beer, no bombs.

They do look suspicious though, obviously together because they're going the same direction at all times, yet walking further apart than you'd expect from 2 friends attending an event together.

The FBI said that they have video of white hat setting down the bag & walking away.

Perhaps they have images of them without the backpacks at some later point in time but before the bombs went off.

Why didn't they tell their techies to enhance those photos? They can do it on TV shows. Does the FBI not have the same technology?:eek:

They may have gotten this from crummy video. Anyway we are seeing generations of copy and pixeling as well.

But now the public knows who to look for and can re-examine their own pics and footage.

White hat with hoodie guy has known that the Feds had his picture from the moment that it was reported with his description in perfect detail.

I find it amazing that the white hat guy is walking around with the bomb slung over only one shoulder all casual. He is one cool cucumber.

I thought so at first as well, but the image was just dark I think.

We can confirm once the pictures are out. CNN home shows one of them

Yeah.. After a second look it looks like either two what guys or maybe middle eastern... I'm not sure about Arab... Almost looks more Persian.
