Dylan starts to get pissy

Of course Dylan has got plenty of options. For example he could find himself another job and tell loose change people 'here is everything I have done, I have no more time to finish it off for you. Goodbye.'

Or he could just disappear, preferably with all the material.

I hear real estate at the bottom of a cliff is good this time of year. Let us hope that Dylan also considers this option :)

Lol harsh... but someone had to say it.

However with his claim that he's got over 70 prints in the UK for it's release he's entered hot water. UK (and Ireland they are different countries) libel laws are some of the most stringent in the world (recall the "tom cruise won't get out of the closest" SP episode, his final line is "I'll sue your asses in england" and that was prophetic, because Tommy did sue Matt and Trey in England) means that Loose Change need to stand up to not only the rebust criticism of the UK media, the challenges of a vicious libel suit from any number of people, and the extremely serious potential that any number of a couple of dozen tv news networks suing the little [rule8] for misuse of copyright material.

If I was Dylan I'd be under a blanket sucking my thumb right now, or alternatively wandering around some mexican back water trying to perfect my 'Mi namo Pedro, no comprede "Loose Change", Senior."

And that South Park episode didn't air on UK TV :(

Another factor in the UK is that - though this is unusual (the last case was a film about alleged police wrongdoing, IIRC) - the cinema screening the film can also be sued. If it gets shown in the UK (in anything like its current form) it'll be interesting to see who gets sued after Dylan/Louder than Words have lost all their money...

*LOL* :D ... But seriously, i believe that Dylan is not dumb
and his lawyers are working on these juridical details right
now as we speculate about it... :p

Come on! You people are fantasizing if you think Avery will recant or modify his position. In too deep and he still believes. He is the "True Believer" and is immune to evidence. Rarely do people that have this sort of cultish mentality break free of their thought process on their own volition.

I predict LC/FC will have some new ideas in it that have come to light but Dylan will be doing the exact same thing he is doing today. No changes to his life. He is going to milk every $ out of LC that he can cause that is all he has.

And the LC people jabbering about theatrical releases are deluded. There will be no theatrical release except possibly some small arthouse theaters. The day I see LC in my local theater is the day pigs fly. Even Avery knows this but that won't stop him from getting his $ from the masses as best he can.

My view....

Dylan won't back down or resile from his positions, regardless of how ridiculous he looks. He has all of his work, prestige, credibility, fan club, and energy tied up in this...no matter how this comes out.

If he yields, he'll be hated by his own supporters and ridiculed by his former opponents. The people he's offended and insulted over the past few years will not accept his apology. His supporters will be enraged, and mark him down as having sold out to the government. Or been a shill all along.

At the same time, he also must know that very few people believe his rubbish any more, and that he's surrounded himself with some of the most disreputable people and dregs of humanity as allies...cranks, looney tunes, nutters, neo-Nazis, and so on. He's now being held by his opponents to a higher standard than his first film -- whose errors could be written off as the work of a 22-year-old kid -- and any mistakes, errors, unsubstantiated allegations, or other nuttery will only result in more opprobrium.

He has nowhere to go. He is so far in sin, he cannot pluck it out, as Shakespeare wrote.

My hunch, which could easily be wrong, is that he'll be like that mad mullah in Burma, who claimed he could fly -- but never actually chose to. Burmese kept flocking to his events and pouring money in his coppers, and he'd promise next week to fly...and every week find some excuse not to.

The excuse, of course, will not be his fault. It'll be the New World Order, Gravy, the FBI, the movie studios to blame. Anyone but himself.

Lurker and Kiwi have a point here that I didn't think of. The film has gained cult status, so DA won't do any research of his own to come up with any sort of "airtight" documentary. Also, he speculates that this film is going to be released into theatres nationwide, maybe continentwide, but the fact is, Hollywood won't gamble with a 23 year old filmmaker that's been rejected from film school twice. There's too much money at stake here, something like $22 million for this film. Hollywood would like a return on this film, and it just won't be able to with the amount of rubbish he's pouring out.

You know, I am not in agreement that Dyalan Avery realizes that most of his CT theories are rubbish. They still cling to the poll which states that over 50% of Americans don't believe the official line. They extrapolate that to mean they believe the LC version.

Now, as a body of skeptics we see the logical disconnect but clearly the LC crew does not.

Also, I note that many here are subconsciously applying a skeptic mentality to Dylan Avery. You think he is concerned about corroborating details and fact based evidence. No, you won't see any of that in LC/FC, not because the facts don't support Avery, but because that is simply not their mindset. Their mindset is not to pursue investigations like we skeptics would, but their mindset is to throw ideas out whether there is evidence supporting it or not. Conjecture is anathema to the skeptic but is the CTist dearest friend.

Dylan Avery only "wins" if he keeps the cult alive. He doesn't do that by throwing cold water on it or pursuing an evidence-based investigation. No, he will continue with the "could have" scenarios.

I think the only change we will see is he will cover himself legally by using weasal words and phrases. Never make a claim explicitly without saying it is a theory or some such.

Lurker

true, he won't exactly start an investigation but will rather make speculations and pass it off as evidence, if he does decide to have an investigation, which I doubt he will...

Oh, I think Dylan will have plenty of investigations but they will be using his defn of the word. The CT defn of "investigation" is to merely ask questions. It is not to compile evidence.

Oooooha ... Now he´s getting even more "puissy":

Is my name Sofia Shafquat? Did I make 911 Mysteries?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I'M the one making the Final Cut, not you. So, how about you, and all you JREF obsessive compulsive jackasses go back to your forum and stop acting like you have us figured out.

The NIST report does not explain the "global collapse." They simply point to it as an inevitability as soon as the "collapse initiation" began. Bogus. Period.

I don't mind skeptics being here, but people like you are a perfect example of one who is not welcome.

And, yes, I do have better things to do than hang out on JREF. It doesn't bother me that I'm not allowed there. Unlike you guys, I don't sit on my opposing side's forums all day.

Isn't it obvious enough? You guys run all over this board pissing on everything on a daily basis. It's getting annoying.

You mean, the B-25 issue and engine problems we fixed?

AND THE FACT THAT THE PLANE TOOK OFF 10 TIMES AND LANDED 13 TIMES UNMANNED. Just because you can't grasp the difference between manned and unmanned landings doesn't mean I ****ed up. It means you're an idiot who's throwing **** at a wall and hoping it sticks.

That's it. Good riddance.

Popcorn? Anyone???

Of course Dylan has got plenty of options. For example he could find himself another job...

ANOTHER job? Is what he is doing now considered gainful employment? He financially supports himself? I thought he still lived with mommy and daddy and they kept him in ample supply of Hot Pockets and "Zena, Warrior Princess" DVDs.

This whole Dylan/LC thing reminds me of those stories you read in the news about someone who says they are dying of cancer. Folks in the community donate loads of cash until the story breaks that the person isn't sick at all, just looking for an easy scam.
