Merged Due process in the US

I usually don't reply to people who aren't arguing in good faith, but I'll bite --what about the Jews who fled Germany during Hitler's early years, where Germany was where the US is right now on the path to fascist autocracy? Should the US have shipped them off to black sites and prisons in El Salvador?
No we sent them back to Hitler, see the voyage of the St Louis.

No, considering Hitler's genocidal rantings and the Nuremberg Laws, the USA should have created a special unlimited asylum policy for Jews and other targets of the Nazis.
Please none of the allies did that even when they knew about the death camps. No one cared about the holocaust at the time just like every other genocide in history. Never again is just propaganda to make the holocaust seem special and different than all the other genocides no one cares about.

Knowing what we now know about the Holocaust and the 6 million murdered Jews, I think people facing mass genocide should get extra consideration for asylum. Don't you?
Why? no one currently facing genocide is getting such consideration now. This is just special pleading from the view that the holocaust is some special event and not just another maybe slightly worse genocide like the scores of others in the 20th century.

They should.

Yes, anyone accused of a crime or violation of some law, should have the ability to challenge this accusation if they feel it is in error.

Hence EVERY person in the USA has a right to some form of Due Process. Even people accused of being in the USA illegally and being a member of a foreign criminal organization.

The border people are allowed to spy on you. A Michigan lawyer would have been allowed to enter, as long as he gave his locked phone away to the border guards who displayed some ID. Probably homeland security. After they hacked his phone and read all the contacts they would have returned the phone to him. They could not prevent a citizen entering, but they would have taken the phone.

Yes, Customs Agents can ask for all sorts of things since you are not yet in the USA. Congress needs to deal with this.

I put the above link into the "Fascism checklist" thread. It is, of course, technically legal and minor, even though it's symptomatic of the tumor that is eating us from within.
Yes, this little legal loophole can be abused to keep citizens from getting back into their country, OR to force citizens to give up their phones, computers, notepads, and answer questions without a warrant or arrest. Bill of Rights doesn't apply outside the USA.

Nicole Micheroni, immigration lawyer with a green card, has posted the mass email that ICE has sent to millions of immigrants. They have an incident such as overstaying a previous visa by two days that got them the "parole" status.

HAPPENING NOW -PressSec: "All foreign nationals present in the United States longer than 30 days must register with the federal government. Failure to comply with this is a crime punishable by fines, imprisonment, or both... If not, you will be arrested, fined, deported, never to return to our country again."

below that

Only Congress can pass laws that define what a crime is. The executive branch cannot invent new crimes.

Standard US tourist visas (B2) are valid for six (6) months. And tourists are "foreign nationals".

Can someone please slap this woman upside the head? About a dozen times? And shout these things in her ear?

Next year's footy world cup is held in US Canada and Mexico. Wonder how their ticket sales are looking. If I were thinking of going I would definitely wonder about the welcome I could expect each time I cross the border and whether that stress would loom over and spoil the whole trip.

Travelers from the USA will have to register if they visit the EU, starting next year. This was put in place before trump.

Trump is doing what he sees worth doing. But he is a very successful businessman and he understands that if his assessments are incorrect he doesn't allow his ego to interfere with making the right (or better) choice or even change. That is how success is measured and that is also why he is a better president than B-movie actors, peanut farmers, CIA agents, DEI shoe-ins, business under-achievers, geriatric zombies, and those who lie about being middle class climbers. Trump will be recognised as one of the best presidents the US has ever had. :usa:
