Great minds think...
No, I am questioning whether the thread's assumptions are valid. Having a psychologist for a wife and having raised three kids leads me to believe y'all are making unwarranted assumptions. Kids, as I said, may compartmentalize colorful entertainers as clowns. That might be the "role" that these supposed "role models" are actually "modeling".
I'd say it's pretty safe to say we've all raised kids, or at least played a role in raising kids. I've raised 3 of them myself. That doesn't really give you any authority, or weight to your opinion. Unless your wife has done some deep studying, or specializes in a field that's related to child development, then that's just an appeal to authority without actually citing an authority or authoritative information.
You're also using a lot of "may", "might", etc. Anything is possible. What you say is possible, and it's also possible that a child that attends these will understand that people dressing in drag aren't bad, or strange, or freaks, as you've openly called them in this thread. They're just people that like something different. Nothing more, nothing less.
