Does God like to kill children

If as many people based their actions on worship of the fictional character Satan, as base their actions on worship of the fictional character YHWH you'd see us addressing those too.

Those that have a powerful god need a powerful archenemy just a tad weaker than the hero.

You can't have a all powerful god with no opposite just as no god at all, no satan required.
Just a void of space around reasonably capable humans doing reasonable things.

Or is that too simple to accept?
 
The literature written to support the existence of gods seems to describe most of them as being in favor of killing and death. Doesn’t seem to matter much to these purported gods what the age of the corpses is.
 
Gods are just pretend.

Some people might dislike the way that robs them of some easy answers but I rather find it sweeps away a lot of meaningless questions.

Just because they're fictional doesn't mean we can't draw conclusions about their character.
John Wick definitely does not eat dogs. He's shown as being far too fond of them for that to be consistent with his character.

God, on the other hand, is all about killing. He orders mass deaths, including child deaths, many times over. He personally kills millions. So while you can't really say if his character likes child killing or is just doing so as a means to an end, he's certainly not anti-child killing

The idea of a being (supernatural or otherwise) devising a reproduction scheme that makes children suffer from genetic defects to prevent 'species drift' is reprehensible. Please tell me your God isn't responsible for this.

But even if you have an explanation that doesn't make your God look like a monster, it still isn't nice to use the word 'retard' (either by itself or joined to another word) to describe people whose views you disagree with. If Jesus was around today I'm sure he would not approve of your attitude towards the disabled.

What is God?

Does God exist?

Does God like anything?

Can God kill anything?


As you can see, your question is based on a lot of presumptions for which there is no evidence.
 
You want to use the Christian bible as evidence of god's love?

OF COURSE! he loves killing kids! Absolutely adores it! Because, according to the above "authoritative source", god killed every child alive in the world except for Noah's privileged offspring. Drowned them all. Dead as anything. And celebrated that effort by inventing rainbows 40 days later.

What is it about God & death that bothers Chrrrristiunz so much? The heathens have no problem with believing in a God of Death, or goddess in the case of Kali. I think that the pagan Iberians had a dead god and, maybe, a whole cult of death -- Spanish Catholics sure show signs of it.

Who if not the Christian God invented death?
 
One of the things that set me on the path to atheism was the story I was told in church school about the age of eight of God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. After the child was tied to the altar, God says, "Ha. Ha. I was only joking".

Though I did not express my thoughts out loud at the time, I did wonder about the effect on Isaac. :boggled:
 
There is also the mass child sacrifice organized by God during the birth of Christ.

After all, angels warned Joseph and Mary to flee, but did nothing to help any of the other children.

Also killing all the first born in Egypt after God hardened the pharaoh's heart to stop the chosen ones from leaving.
 
So, OP, I guess a good biblical case can be built that yes, the Christian God does like killing children.

I had a similar experience in Catholic Catechism about the Angel of Death killing the firstborn of Egypt.

Had a long argument with a sister about that one. A good teaching moment in the use of circular logic by her. "God is good, so whatever he does is good. They should have listened to Him, it's their fault."

ETA: I always wondered about Isaac too. Good lesson for boys: whenever you think YOUR Dad is a prick, remember this guy.
