Penultimate Amazing
And I stand on the side that He did, often. That the Bible doesn't have a laugh verse means little, it also has no verse on Him leaving His stool in the privy, and so on.
I had a brief I used to give to teenage bible study on Jesus and the sense of humor. Can't find it at the moment.
Given that Jesus was human, and that humans tend to laugh at least occasionally over the course of a life, it is difficult to imagine Jesus not laughing, even if only as an infant while mary was goo gooing over Him, cleaning Him, changing Him, or whatever.
For one thing, His disciples were so funny in their confusion, I can't imagine Him not having a good chuckle time and again. Yes, I may be projecting.
My favorite Jesus the Wit example is in the Book of John, when the disciples, post Crucifixion, are traveling and Jesus appears with them. They don't quite recognize Him. Then one realizes, at dinner, "Hey, it's you, Lord!" and Jesus disappears. I always see, in my minds eye, a sh__ eating grin and twinkle in his eye as he does that.
Classic gotcha humor.

I think there's at least a hint of humor in Mark, if read right. Imagine the narrator of Mark telling these stories orally, and coming to the part about where the hall was so crowded they had to cut a hole in the roof and lower a guy down on a rope, or where Jesus is baiting Pharisees, setting them up for the kill. There are a few pretty good "gotcha" moments there. If, as some believe, the writer of Mark was secretary or amanuensis to St. Peter, I can definitely see the possibility that what we read is an edited, and perhaps sanitized, version of some pretty rousing after-dinner reminiscences.
Back for the moment to the original post, we know that Jesus drank - he's accused at least at some point of hanging around drinking wine with the rabble. But is there any real evidence that other recreational drugs were available to him? I'm too lazy to check today, but are there any biblical references to smoking anything at all, or to the non medicinal use of other drugs than alcohol?
