Did Jesus smoke cannabis (marijuana, weed)?

^ Yes a wooden streamroller or a indian-style peace pipe. Or a you being facetious?

"Did Jesus smoke cannabis (marijuana, weed)?" is an extremely serious and important topic. I would never behave facetiously in such a thread.

Any which way, JC tokin' it up?

You only need to look at a map of the region - top quality gear growing all over the place. Also iirc there are many references in the bible to JC chonging on his bong ... can't give chapter & verse at the moment - according to google searches it seems the Stoner's Annotated Bible will only be available when someone can be bothered to get around to writing it.

^ Definitely.

Swim (someone who I met) says that takin' a hit is like inhaling a breath from god.

Bill Hicks
Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit … paranoid? You know what I mean? It’s nature. How do you make nature against the f*cking law? It grows everywhere. Serves a thousand different functions, all of them positive. To make marijuana against the law is like saying God made a mistake. You know what I mean? It’s like God, on the seventh day, looking down on his creation:

‘There it is, my creation, perfect and holy in all ways. Now, I can rest …’

Oh my me! I left f*cking pot everywhere. I never should have smoked that joint on the third day. F*ck! That was the day I created possums. If I leave pot everywhere, that’s going to give humans the impression they’re supposed to use it. Now I have to create Republicans!

And God wept. I believe is the next verse.

No, the obvious one to ask is Judas Iscariot! Just slip him some silver, and you'll get the whole story ... and maybe a kiss on the cheek!

But don't ask Thomas ... he makes some of the skeptics here look positively wooish.
Obvious? Have you ever smoked weed?

Many people (myself) do not believe in all those stories that defy physics as literal; just maybe an illustration, allusion, allegory that exist to offer guidance; etc. But noone has to read the Bible, Torah, or other sacred texts to find truth; it seems that all answers that concern the mysteries of the universe and our essential nature can be arrived at through contemplation. Some practices (yoga, mediation, and other practices that can induce non-ordinary states of conscious) can dramatically excelerate that pursuit.

So, JC smokin' a macka spliff with Marley, Buddha, and Krishna?

Dude, stop bogarting JC's stash and put the pipe down...

Does this mean I should move this out of my humor bookmark?

Who the fajita cares?? If there even was a Jesus of Nazareth--by which I mean, if the person who was loosely the basis of the "gospels" was a single individual and not an amalgam of several would-be Messiahs of the day--there is no possible way to determine what he might have done on a daily basis. Nor would the answer make any difference to anything that I can think of...even when I was a Believer (you know, back in The Day), it would have made no difference.

???

Kitt, you imply that you do not care; yet, you post. Hmmm...

Sensitive dependency on initial conditions.

I was googling "cannabis seeds" and various religious-type words trying to find a variety that JC might have prefered (Haze Heaven, anyone?) ... then I googled "cannabis seeds jesus" and hit the jackpot -

Cannabis linked to Biblical healing

Jesus Christ and his apostles may have used a cannabis-based anointing oil to help cure people with crippling diseases, it has been claimed.

Researchers in the United States say the oil used in the early days of the Christian church contained a cannabis extract called kaneh-bosem.

They suggest the extract, which is absorbed into the body when placed on the skin, could have helped cure people with a variety of physical and mental problems.

The author of the article, published in the US drugs magazine High Times, says his findings are based on a study of scriptural texts.

JC - not only a user but a dealer.

. . . Swim (someone who I met) says that takin' a hit is like inhaling a breath from god. . . .

Maybe Swim (whom I've never met) gets different mileage, but god's breath can make me withdrawn and a little extra neurotic. On the plus side, it was recently revealed to me that pickled banana pepper rings on tuna melts is absolutely amazing. The wisdom that existed before time, to be sure.

THC Ministry, Roger Christie...

[derail]

One doesn't have to care about the topic in question to ask the poser why he posed it.

I loathe this sort of response. It's so...lazy and rude and so missing the point of the question.

Kitt doesn't care if Jesus lit up. Kitt wants to know, instead, why you care enough to ask. The question isn't about Jesus.

The question is about you.

Clearer now?

We all came out to Magdala
On the lake Galilee shoreline
To go fishin' without a boat
We didnt have much time.
King Herod and the others
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a hookah
Burned the place to the ground.

Smoke on the water, fire in the sky.

Sounds like a stoner to me, unless I've mis-remembered the words.
