Did Arafat have AIDS?

You would think that a guy who stole billions could at least afford some White Castles! And a shave.

He could have gone into exile and lived a life of luxury with the "stolen millions" ( or billions or trillions ) at any time. Israel would have loved this.

He chose not to do so but to remain in a building ruined by Israeli attacks. This tells you something about him that materia3 would dearly like to deny.

A flawed man certainly, but also one capable of inspiring great loyalty among his people.

You remember you are talking about a guy who pioneered international terrorism and stole billions from the mouths of hungry Palestinians right? The guy who's building was ruined by Israeli attacks because he financed terrorism as he was signing peace agreements with the terror victims.

The only good thing that can be said about Arafat is that he is finally dead and the Palestinians no longer live under a corrupt aid-stealing islamist dictator.

Yes, he stole billions. I know that because I started that thread. But why would you use "Virgin Mary's End Time Prophecies" as a news source to support your argument? Hint: It makes you look like a fool.

I surely would like to deny what exactly? Arafat was under house arrest by the Israelis. He could not leave even if he wanted to.

He could not bring in millions or billions of dollars which he stole over the years and do what with it exactly?

Buy food and water? When there is none to buy.

Every day Palestinians die of their horrible living conditions, a situation brought down on them by their blind obedience to Yassir Arafat. This pathology is not unknown in history.

After he turned down the statehood deal he was offered, he did NOT choose to remain in his bombed out compound, he was forced to as a result of the unrelenting string of suicide bomber attacks on Israeli and American civilians inside Israel.

It remains to be seen if the new PLO recovers those billions and uses them to positively benefit the Palestinian people, not their terrorist cause by giving a few grand to fathers who sell (brain-wash) their children as suicide bombers.

Only a warped pediocentric predator such as Arafat and his buddy Saddem Hussein (who also paid "life insurance" to families of suicide bomber children) could have conceived this horrific protocol and turn it into a cause.

These men were a true abomination, and it is a blessing Arafat is dead and the other wastes away in a small room somewhere.

Poisoning Scenario being Talked Up

Militants vow to avenge Arafat death

By Nidal al-Mughrabi

GAZA (Reuters) - Militants convinced Israel poisoned Yasser Arafat have vowed revenge attacks on the Jewish state and warned the new
Palestinian leadership against any compromise as Arafat was brought home for burial.

The suspicions of poisoning were also widespread at mosques and rallies on Friday despite assurances to the contrary from Arafat's successors, a reflection of the popular trust they lack and the rejection by many Palestinians of a soft line on Israel.

Abbas unharmed in shooting spree

Palestinian militants have burst into a mourning tent for Yasser Arafat, firing shots in protest at the presence of his potential successor, Mahmoud Abbas.

Mr Abbas was hustled away unhurt, but at least one security guard was killed in the incident in Gaza City.
The gunfire broke out shortly after Mr Abbas arrived to accept condolences on the death last Thursday of Mr Arafat.
Correspondents say it was a very confused scene and it is not clear that the gunfire was directed at Mr Abbas.

Or indeed George Washington. Most political leaders are flawed, it's the nature of the beast. Whether they are heroes or villains depends on who writes the history books.

Even if he did have AIDS, that is not conclusive evidence of his having unprotected sex, there are other ways of getting an HIV infection.

As for the body of evidence presented that Arafat was a homosexual, I place that evidence at exactly the same level I place the evidence that Jedgar Hoover was a transvestite, which is to say, if that evidence were a puddle, it couldn't get a dime wet.

If you really think Arafat could not have done a deal with the Israeli's under which he went into permanent exile to enjoy his zillions you are living in an alternative reality.

Nothing would have suited them better.

You seem to have a need to find that he had no redeeming features, that he was an "abomination" . I think your society's puritan ethos is showing. :p

I would certainly agree that he was a lousy administrator and that a different set of politicians might have produced a better outcome after Oslo ( grossly unfair as that was ). It is all too common for the inspirational head of an anticolonial struggle to make a mess of things once in office unfortunately.

Obviously you haven't read Materia3's conclusive evidence posted at the Virgin Mary's End Time Prophecies web site. They have concluded that he was a raging homo and a pedophile!

Well, I guess this blanket assertion saves you the trouble applying any critical thinking skills. After all, the only difference in anyone is who writes what about them, eh?

Not true.

Hitler would have been evil even if he had won WWII. Washington would not have been evil (although he would probably have been unknown) if he had lost the revolutionary war.

What determines their evil or goodness is their actions. Arafat's goal is, and always was, the destruction of israel and the massacre of the jews. His method is, and always was, to reach this goal by killing as many jewish women, children, and babies as possible. This is evil. It is not "imperfection".

That his henchmen and followers see it as a good thing hardly makes it a "debatable" issue or just a matter of "opibion", any more than the fact that, say, some people still worship Stalin means that his genocide of tens of millions might not have REALLY been evil.

"The winners write the history books" was a statement originally made popular by the fascists--understandably so, as their entire enterprise was based on the claim that the end (glory to the Aryan--or whomever--people) justifies any means (genocide, etc.)

Of course, Nikk, you don't REALLY think that ALL politicians have mere "imperfections". When it comes to the USA or to the israeli politicians, like Sharon, Bush, etc., all of a sudden you do not shrug off their actions as mere "imperfections", but explain to everybody in detail how evil they are.

For you, Arafat, bin Laden, Zaraqwai, etc., are merely "imperfect" people whose ultimate moral standing depends on "who will write the history books" (if it will be a genocidal Islamo-fascist, they'll turn out OK in the end), while Bush, Sharon, etc., are evil.

That should be telling you something--for instance, just how deep into moral imbecility you have sunk.

I heard ODB, the rapper from the Wu-Tang Clan, died the other day in the recording studio. He was 35.

No official cause of death has been released. Must've been AIDS.

Cleon, you have my sympathies in your time of loss. While I can’t honestly say I regret the death of Arafat as a person, I am sad for the likely results to the Palestinian-Arab people, as well as the apparent personal discomfort it causes to you.

Need to correct a few mis-statments bordering on outright lies:

1.Neither myself nor anyone else other than the original source has said the evidence was conclusive.

2. The source for the NY Post, the Vegan Mary website, the National Review and a lot of other websites is one single book only:

Red Horizons

The True Story of Nicolae and Elena Ceausescus' Crimes, Lifestyle, and Corruption

By Ion Mihai Pacepa
Paperback / Natl Book Network / April 1990 / 0895267462
List Price $12.95 /

Since this book is not available online (but can still be purchased if perusal of book websites is any indication), it is necessary to give the URLs for those who have most recently published excerpts which support the thesis of this thread's title:

1. Arafat was not a Palestinian. He was 100% Egyptian.

2. Arafat was not his real name. It was Rahman al-Qudwa

3. Arafat was not a devout moslem; he has maried a christian.

4. Arafat was not a devout moslem: he has stolen billions from his own people.

And if General Pacepa's book is true, Arafat is:

5. A compromised (due to his alleged homosexual pedophilia) and controlled agent of the former USSR, a position for which he was recruited by the late A.G. Nasser, President of Egypt.

As to his cause of death:

6. Nobody, not his wife, doctors, relatives or anyone is willing to state what he died from or what his clinical laboratory results were. This has lead to the speculation by the NY Post that there is one and only one disease which family and supporters of a deceased would like to suppress and that is AIDS. If he died from anything else there would, they reason, be absolutely no purpose in hiding that. And if he were truly poisoned, then it would be front page headlines by now.

But I too offer my condolences to anyone for whom Arafat's death meant the loss of their leader, regardless of the above. I hope the Palestinian people can move on without bloodshed and obtain the soverign state they have fought so long and so hard for.

He had one of those 14 word names like Saddam Hussein has.

In fact, Hussein is one of the names.

For whatever it's worth, while there are many sources that will claim Arafat was only religious when it was politically convenient for him to be so, his wife did convert to Islam.

Edited to add:

A word of advice:

Repudiate the Virgin Mary source already. While a loopy source doesn't prove your argument wrong, this is a skeptics site and it will effectively prevent any serious discussion of your ideas.

In the future, if you find information on a questionable site that you believe to be true and want to use, research and source it independently before bringing it here.

In looking at that site, I can see that it does quote legit news sources, but the funny thing about sites run by fruit-loops is how often they're willing to mis-quote a story to make their argument or quote a paid advertisement while claiming it's a news story.

Don't let the taint of woo-wooism ruin an otherwise plausible theory.
