For you to yes and not just in thread iirc, for those on it or knowing who is on it no. You are just not supposed to say you have put someone on it. No idea why, but...........it's one of those things that was not against the original rules and later was added to the list of naughties.

I appreciate the sentiment, but if he wants to ignore my posts I won't stop him. It's nice of you and others who are trying to bypass his settings, but if not against the letter of the MA, it's probably against the spirit. And I don't want people to get in trouble on my behalf.

It's not as if he ever posted proper replies before he chose to let the forum software do his ignoring for him.

Note that KotA counts any evidence for any part of his theory as applying to EVERY part of his theory. So when I say (correctly) that he has no evidence that specifically links Atlantis to the menorah, he counts that as 'ignoring evidence'.

He doesn't understand that having evidence for one specific part of his theory doesn't mean his whole theory is proven.
 
It's the slow-motion Gish Gallop technique. Every time the logic net tightens a little, introduce some more crazy.

ETA - this would all be somewhat worrying if he was actually serious about any of it.

That's why I said I was willing to totally set aside the existence of Atlantis as well as the idea that the menorah was adopted by some other source. I was trying to get him to focus on the part he has provided zero evidence for, specifically the actual claim in the thread title.

But since he couldn't do that, he just kept trying to twist my words or go off on tangents.

Unwelcome perhaps, but accurately describing the story story arc of the posts in this thread. It's a bit hard to argue with that evidence...
