Split Thread DEI in the US

I would say, judging by art's posting history, he is also of the mindset that racism is bad. It's bad no matter which way it goes, but it has heavily leaned one way for a few centuries or more. Pointing out the hypocrisy is part of the process.

There is also the fact that people pushing DEI policies are not intentionally trying to hurt anyone, or take opportunities away from white people. That's just some ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ that a bunch of white, whiny ass hats scream because they don't get a leg up based on nothing more than their skin color.

That being said, look at the vast majority of folk that are vehemently against DEI initiatives. Do you see a common pattern among them? Look at all of the other threads that tackle the subject matter of equal rights, whether it be LGBTQ+, racism, and the like, and you'll notice a trend. You'll see the same people in those threads screaming that any form of equality for others means less for them and, I assure you, they're all white people.
Not necessarily. There are plenty of people, who are not cis, white, christian men that buy into white supremacy as long as they are higher up on the heirarchy than the other people of color.

Sure, anything is possible but I feel overwhelmingly confident in my statement. Especially since I was referring to here, ISF.

Many white supremacists don't consider themselves racist, they honestly believe that people of color are inferior and that there is science that proves it.
If you believe that standards need to be lowered and certain groups excluded for "people of color" to succeed, it is you who think they are inferior.

Well that's a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ dumb take. No one is asking for standards to be lowered, they're asking for the standards to be equal and since we have tons, and tons of documented cases that have proven the standards aren't equal then changes need to be made.

It's always weird to me the things you Trumpers think are slam dunks yet turn out to be own goals.

No, they're not. If that were true, a person's race or sex would be a completely irrelevant consideration. There wouldn't be exclusionary terms, like BIPOC. But instead, with DEI, race or sex is the most important thing. And when you do that, standards necessarily suffer.

I wonder how many DEI proponents sincerely believe that a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace necessarily includes a white male heterosexual Christian viewpoint.
All of them. That's what equity means. and diversity. And inclusion. You can't be inclusive if you're excluding the white mail heterosexual Christian viewpoint. It's right there in the word.

On the other hand, how many anti-DEI proponents sincerely believe that if the white male heterosexual Christian viewpoint isn't included, that's racism?

Again, all of them.

Whether or not racism is bad is not the point of the discussion. Of course it is. Duh. The issue is whether anti-DEI is fuelled by white supremacy.

Well, that's a steaming pile of poop. Can you give an example, just one, where DEI in practice actually advocated polices to include the White/male/hetro/Christian? Where the White/male/hetro/Christian was "unrepresented" and DEI was used increase their numbers?

Irrelevant. One example does not prove anyone's point. Anyone who doesn't believe that DEI means diversity, equity and inclusion is in error, and anyone who is against it is de facto a white supremacist.

I've never understood why people care so much about hypocrisy. I think the racism is bad, regardless of any hypocrisy about it.

if you think standing with white supremacists against racism against whites is the not racist thing to do, i don't think you've really thought that through. the hypocrisy is an important part of why

A racist calling something else racist, doesn't change anything, it doesn't make racism any more or less bad. Hypocrisy doesn't make someone wrong either. Hypocrisy is also easy to avoid, just don't have any standards or goals worth striving for.

So, no, hypocrisy is not an important party of anything. It is a practically universal part of the human condition though.

I only ever see my typos once they're posted (and most of the time, not even then), no matter how hard I try to spot them before I post. I read what I know should be there, not what actually is there.
So do I, but a nice reminder can always be useful for those devoid of that ability ;)

I have that as well.
What works for me is reading what I wrote out loud to my wife. Then i will find all kinds of errors.

Of course i don’t do that for posts on a forum. So there’s that.
