David Bernard killed by a “bomb” in front of WTC 7 on 9/11

I agree with Mr. Bernard it was an explosion outside WTC 7 on Vesey Street, but I do not think it was a bomb.

What is your evidence he was on Vesey Street?

Bernard told his wife he experienced an explosion, what he thought must have been a bomb, not flying debris from WTC 1 or 2 or parts of an aircraft flying thru the air, but an explosion, a bomb.

1. Reject the prosaic notion that Bernard was injured by debris in favour of Bernard’s initial impression that he was injured by a bomb.

I’m not sure I’m with you. It appears to me the original poster is saying something along the lines of the following: he said it was a bomb; thus it must have been a bomb; except it wasn’t a bomb; it was a missile.

Somewhere on this board we have a link to a video that was being shot from Murray Street just as the second plane hit. To me, who has heard bombs exploding from various distances, it sounded like a bomb, too. It throew debris everywhere. Ome of it was quite loud as it hit the ground near murray Street. The cameraman, as he is leaving, remarks that it appears someone near him had been hit and killed by falling debris.

This all means that you have a great truckload of diddly squat again, MagZ.

his wife described his words with: "He thought, it was bomb". What did he tell her exactly? Highly probable he said: "It was a bomb." Of course he could also say "I think it was a bomb".

I am guessing that Mr. Bernard experienced something that was similar to what one might think having a bomb go off near them would feel like.

I am guessing that he may have said to his wife, "Honey, it was LIKE a bomb went off."

According to this account, Mr. Bernard left his hotel at 8:30 AM for a 9:00 AM meeting in 7 WTC.

Bernard, an industry specialist with the Internal Revenue Service, was in Manhattan on business the morning of Sept. 11. He checked out of his hotel at 8:30 a.m. to make a 9 a.m. meeting at Building 7, in the shadow of the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

But Bernard never made it to his destination. Flight 11 slammed into the north tower at 8:45 a.m.

Assuming the man was reasonably punctual, he would have been inside 7 WTC by the time UA 175 hit the South Tower and thereby shielded by the bulk of the building from virtually all debris raining down on the street. His actual location, when he was injured, was never mentioned but it is much more likely that he was hit by debris from the crash of Flight 11 than from the later Flight 175.

It would seem likely (to me) that any mention of a bomb was more how he chose to express what seemed to happen than an affirmative statement that "it was a bomb".

There would not have been much debris coming from WTC 1 on the north side of the building, the plane and it’s parts would have exited on the south side. I think it is likely he was outside WTC 7 entrance watching WTC 1 burn and then saw the second plane crash and experienced the explosion a second or two later above him.

Nope, he was hit on the sidewalk:

He checked out of his Manhattan hotel at 8:30 a.m. on a walk he would never complete.

Debris falling hundreds of feet smashed into the left side of Bernard's body on the sidewalk below.

No indication where exactly the sidewalk was located though.

And, of course, this is just more speculation on your part. You have no idea where Bernard was, nor will you bother to find out.
