I've never heard of Carlos Estevez. Guess I'm not in the "masses".

Seems to me that Maher said that the hijackers showed sopme courage.
I see his point thought I personally would not have put it that way.

A suicide mission takes a person totally committed to the cause. That may be a definition of courage in some circles. Take a hypothetical situation in which a soldier stands his ground firing at an advacing enemy in order to allow his comrades to move to a better position or escape an ambush. Our military is quite willing to honour that individual posthumously for their courage and sacrifice. A true story would be of that first bomber raid ion Tokyo after which the ombers tried to fly on to China. many never made it or went down before reaching the Chinese army controlled territory. I am quite sure that in fundementalist Islamic circles the hijackers are regarded as courageous soldiers who carried out a mission to hit at the homeland of the enemy.

well that was a low for them, but not widely publicized. The Jon Stewart thing...huge....much more negative impact for them. They are, quite literally, the "laughing stock" of america.

Inability to admit error continues to manifest itself in truther people posts.

It's sad. ABC is not CBS. It's OK. You made a mistake. I make them all the time. Like seeing "Leibowitz" and thinking "Lovitz," when all the time you were talking about a guy named "Stewart."

I'm befuddled. I even posted the pic of JS holding up the "Outside Job" pic as a subtle dig, but didn't get any response.

Are they that dumb that they think JS supports truthers?

Or is the fact that JS think truthers are nutjobs making them reconsider their beliefs?

Not in the slightest! If I was a yank, I'd be a Democrat. But these guys think the Dems can do no wrong, and call Rebubs fascists, Bush Hitler, etc etc. Totally off the deep end. Moderate doesn't exist in their vocabulary. Hence me calling them rabid Dems. I'm not saying all Dems are rabid. Hope that clears things up.

Jon Stewart, while a liberal, still points out when the Dems do things wrong. His recent "Why I give up" bit about the 9/11 first responders bill is one bit I have in mind. He also gave Obama a bit of a serve yesterday, which I was a bit disgruntled about. I think Obama is doing very well, against steep odds.

This option gets my vote.

Stupid people aren't real good at subtle. In some cases, 'subtle' includes everything less conspicuous than a 19th-century cavalry charge.
