Agreed. He just seemed sour and persistently nasty in that clip, and I wondered if he might be a little or maybe a lot intoxicated.I miss Funny David Letterman. Whatever happened to that guy?

Being morbidly obese does not just have superficial ramifications. It also means the person is at high risk of serious health problems. Particularly when considering that presidential candidates tend to be late middle age or older. I'd be reluctant to vote in the primaries for a mordibly obese person, because what if they then picked a really crappy V.P., who we'd be at risk of getting stuck with?
I'd also be concerned about them having the energy needed to be president.
Obese presidents have done fine before, and I think it is the superficial issues that would be problematic more than the health issues. Being fat doesn't have much to do with how energetic you are, AFAIK. A really ugly person couldn't make it either. Television has been good and bad for elections.
I'm not saying health isn't a concern, but having the medical records of all candidates is important. You CAN have an obese person who is in good health, so one shouldn't be dismissive just for that reason.
His overall health is an issue as far as the choice of his running mate would be concerned... would GOP folks really think the majority of the electorate would vote for a Christie/Bachmann or Christie/Paul ticket, for instance?

Candidate for Veep?

Of course not. The Democrats would run against his running mate, as they did with the 2008 election. He would have to pick someone reasonable for his running mate.
Considering that one third of Americans are obese, I fail to see why commenting about Christie's weight is anything but a cheap shot.
Rubio.
Well then,
according to Ann Coulter almost a year ago,
Mitt Romney will be the Republican candidate and he will lose.
the cbc news just had a clip of christie saying he absolutely is not running for president.
he said, "now is not my time. i have obligations to new jersey."
coulter is a foul, despicable thing, jude.
why do you give her credence?
What, does he owe them money or something?
