Continuation Part 10: Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito

A full frontal pixel attack, I like it.

The computer is no substitute for being in public with other people until late. Obviously when their suspicions were ginning up they had no idea of some computer alibi. Interaction with the computer only is good for one person.

Sigh. In future, please take a breath and think things through.

Yes but they did it for the british girls and other interviews.

Of those would not need translating but it would seem far more of an issue to tap phones and those calls would have to be transcribed.

I don't have handy sources but he said that they forgot to turn on the recording in their haste and surprise. I think he at one time also said that only a suspect has to be recorded and she wasn't one. I think BW has a list he used to spam put out often :p

In the CNN Mignini interview doesn't he say the interviews were transcribed? Yes, he does and even says he recorded them in his office. Why not Amanda?

Where are those interview transcripts? I want them and I want them now!

Other than the 5:45 November 6 spontaneous statement, Mignini didn't have prior access to questioning of Amanda did he?

As for the interview transcripts do you mean the prior police questioning of Amanda and Raffaele or the November 5-6 questioning or both? There are definitely notes taken, whether there are recordings ? but someone has access to those notes (depositions) at the very least.

Bill why do you keep repeating the lie about Filomena having the same alibi? It is so irritating and misleading and a complete waste of pixels. She and her boyfriend were with other people until quite late and then went home in a place not close to the cottage. I would re-find this for you but you don't really care and will repeat the canard over and over. I know you use the weasel word essentially but it just isn't accurate and misleading on purpose.

You do not seem to accept the gastric evidence, correct?
So you argue that the murder could have happened any time during the night?
Quite late means time exactly?

I do accept the gastric evidence but I don't believe that because it hadn't started by 9:05 that means it had to have started by 9:15 or 9:30. If Lalli did a good job and she had started to eat by 7:30 (earlier later who knows as we are depending on memory of the british girls and we all know that memory is worthless :p) then something really should have started by 8:30 or 9 and if she ate earlier then even earlier. If there really was no movement by 9 then using any acceptable start of eating time, something was not operating within norms.

I think that all the evidence of phone records etc. make it clear she was dead by 10 pm probably 9:45 and it could have been earlier. Filomena was out past those times with people celebrating a birthday. I've supplied this for ole BW before. I don't need no digestion data for her alibi.

The ones Mignini refers to in the interview and when he asked Amanda why she hadn't mentioned Patrick in previous interviews.

Why didn't he record the 5:45? Budget you think? Not me.

I want the actual video of Mignini saying this, because I remember seeing it, or at least, I think I remember seeing it.

Sorry don't know where it is. I guess you could try those names on the blog link.

Here's CD's blog on it http://blog.seattlepi.com/dempsey/2011/05/06/cnn-amanda-knox-prosecutor-rambling-confused/

Well the 5:45 statement didn't happen in his office (where the taping and transcribing apparatus is).

The previous interviews, I believe, were not recorded by audio or video but there were notes taken by the police conducting the questioning. These would be available to both the defense and prosecution in the large court file.

The video and transcripts of the interview seem to have been removed. Perhaps one of the advocacy websites downloaded the interview onto its own servers. There was also an Italian transcript of the interview which was translated to English but I cannot find that (Italian transcript) either.

So to be precise, Filomena's alibi starting from 'quite late' (to be imprecise), was the same as Amanda's. We can exclude the part about going home to a place not close to the cottage because we have only Filomena and her boyfriend's words for that.

It was 2007 not 1947 and he could easily have turned on a recorder or used the interview room.

Where was his office?

It ius even worse that that. . . .They should have been recording everything digitally by 2007.

The discussion has wandered back onto the various recordings. I have had a question for some time, and at one point made a beginning effort to locate the information without luck.

My question: what real info do we have on the alleged 30,000+ phone calls that were intercepted? And supposedly a small number were lost. Were any of these transcribed? Available for viewing?

Thanks if someone can direct me to that info.

Not in the Questura. I would guess in the Procura della Reppublica in Perugia.

He had Donnino with him. What room did he use? The interrogation room must have been available at 5:45 am unless Christian was reporting another crime :p. Why wouldn't he record this given his awareness of the law requiring her to be represented?

Another member of the Rudy fan club heard from...

-

Fan club? You need to earn some respect here dude.

Right on Bill. Another member of the Rudy fan club proves how s***** Gumpers (someone who is a member of the guilt camp) are and also helps prove that they really don't care one iota about Meredith and that all they really care about is gettin' that B**** (Witch) Amanda.

I am no fan of Amanda, far from it. From day one, I always thought she looked creepy, but does that make her guilty?

Hell no. It's the shoddy evidence, overwhelming contamination probabilities, and amateur psychological misinterpretations that make me doubt Raffaele and Amanda's guilt, not because I'm a fan.

If I'm a fan of anyone, it's Raffaele. Not to be sexist, but he's what I always envisioned a real Italian man was like. It's heartening to know there are still some left.

S***** Gumpers.

Sorry everyone for my bad conduct here today,

d

ETA: I actually have issues with Rudy's guilt also, but there's definitely way more evidence he did it than that (as Grinder is fond of saying) the "kids" did it.

You are usually quite precise and insist on precision about others.

Yet with me, inexplicably you're on a hair trigger to say something ad hominem.

The key is as above in what started this exchange. "That they zeroed in so quickly on Knox...."

Knox: I was with my boyfriend all evening and all night.
Romanelli: I was with friends and then with my boyfriend all night.

Of course, as the poor example of an investigation played out, they very quickly narrowed in on Knox.... even though between Raffaele's friend coming to the door at 8:35 pm to be met by Knox, and stomach contents suggesting Meredith was gone by 9:30-10 pm gives Knox/Sollecito a virtual alibi without the computers... (ETA - Which is something I include as an object lesson.... they could not thave known that either as part of *quickly* including/excluding Knox/Sollecito either. It's 20/20 hindsight, in terms of this business of the cops *quickly* narrowing in on Knox - on behaviour clues.)

Point is, both Filomena and Knox HAD essentially the same alibi as of what the cops were hearing on the afternoon of Nov 2, 2007.

You've moved the goalposts to well into the case, well past when Knox had been arrested and into when it can be verified what Filomena had been up to on Nov 1.

But on Nov 2, what was the reason to so quickly narrow in on Knox and exclude Filomena?

Chiefly that Filomena had lawyered up, and that quirky Knox tried to help and kept herself in the presence of police. She thought she was cooperating to solve her friend's murder. But acc. to Mignini she was a suspect as early as when he'd taken Knox back to the cottage. (ETA - why didn't they take Filomena back to the cotttage to account for the knives?) Acc. to Napoleoni, they were suspicious because they seemed intent on getting her to notice the pooh in the toilet.

So why all the invective aimed my way?

I think what most here would agree on, is that it would be just as much of a stretch to suspect Filomena and her boyfriend of inviting Rudy over to the cottage and then helping him to sexually assault and murder Meredith, as it is to imagine Amanda and her boyfriend doing it.

I think the argument is that there is really no better reason for the police to narrow in on Amanda and Raff, not that Filomena is guilty.

We know who the murderer is
Rudy Guede

I think what we're talking about, though, is how the incompetent cops check out alibis.

My assertion was that early on, the cops narrowed things (perhaps appropriately) to three possibilities:

1) someone broke in through Filomena's window.
2) someone used a key to open the front door and get in
3) Meredith let her killer(s) in.

Chiacchiera drew the investigation responsibilities for #2 and #3. Therefore he (or others) grilled Meredith's friends about who Meredith might have gotten friendly with at the Halloween party.

Amanda and Filomena are equally persons of interest on #2, at least on Nov 2. Both had stories of not being alone on the evening of Nov 1, and during the night until morning.

Amanda said she'd visited the cottage at 10:30 on Nov 2 for a shower, and her suspicions that something was wrong grew.... she called her mom, Filomena, and Raffaele called his Carabinieri sister.

Filomena lawyered up. Amanda didn't. So when no obvious candidate surfaced for #3, then #2 became more important.

They prematurely eliminated #1, and when AK, RS, and PL were arrested, none of them had this as part of their history anyway. So #1 was eliminated.

By the time Filomena's alibi became "iron clad", AK had been in jail for a long time.
