Chris Christie

Christie is not as nuts as the rest of them, but that doesn't mean he's not nuts. He has a habit of insulting reporters that ask him questions he doesn't like.

That certainly doesn't make him nuts. Insulting reporters is a standard tactic and can win a politician support. This is not new. Remember the GHW Bush - Dan Rather kerfuffle?
 
The way he insults them is really disturbing. He calls them idiots and such.
 
He is a republican. I have no love for him and his war on teachers in NJ.

He did a good job as far as Sandy goes. That is his job btw. What does he want? A cookie?

Speaking of idiocy, I do apologize for bringing up unrelated claims of yours to this thread.

Alcohol and jref do not mix well unless to goal is to get suspended.
 
My view of him is similar to Trickys. He seems a step above most conservatives but I question whether he is just smart and most of the positives about him mentioned in the thread is just part of his long term strategy.

I'd say Christie will eventually make a presidential bid and so will Scott Walker. Maybe not 2016 but eventually.

I wasn't thinking of his wives as much as his pro-choice/mayor-of-a-big-city beliefs that conflict with Republican ideology. As people pointed out after Romney's first debate, had he said those same things while running for the nomination, he would have been booed. That was not Guiliani's only problem; he made the risky move of betting everything on Florida.

Oh no! I think...wait...you are joking aren't you?

I actually like Chris Christie for the reasons, I think mentioned here, that he seems to say what he actually believes and has so far been successful at not watering down or sugarcoating what he says with feelgood silliness. He is the complete opposite of Romney who was a complete nothing.

I have to doubt whether or not he would get elected as president and the reasons for that are, unfortunately, due to his size.

I would hope that if he didn't get elected it would be for more substantial reasons (that wasn't meant as a pun) such as his views on unions. His wishy-washyness on evolution (I think) isn't, or shouldn't be a vote-killer, but was a bit disappointing.
 
One of the problems with Chris' argument against the teach is that he neglected to mention that his office was largely responsible for that budget loss. Not only did he provide false information about the budget, but also the issues he created with the unions that lead to the loss in funding, which he then blames on the teachers.
 
Well...I guess this just goes to show how I shouldn't weigh in on why I am not very familiar with. Anyhow...guess that's what the E in JREF is for. :)
