Merged Carrie Fisher is dead

She's 60. I had a heart attack at 45. I would hardly call 60 as "young".
Kind of is these days tbf.

Depending on the job they have been doing.

Labourer's body may be screwed.

Office worker who looks after themselves could probably do another 20 years

Office jobs are actually the most affected, due to stress and lack of movement. I'm a programmer and my colleague had heart attack at 36. Another had stroke at 40. None of them drinks, smokes, or is obese.

Mate

Maybe true where you have worked.

I've worked in places where the only stress some of my "colleagues" is repetitive hand strain from mind sweeper

I'm glad someone else thinks this. Having a schoolboy snigger at the possible death of another really pisses me off.

Bothers me too. But Cullenz has been as contrite about it as we might hope.

Meanwhile, I'm glad to know she's stable. Whatever that may mean exactly, at least she's alive. I didn't want to go to bed tonight weeping into my Bespin Leia action figure. It's vintage 1981 and tears will smudge the factory paint.

Hope she makes a full recovery.

Sorry, but none of that phrasing contradicts that she may be dying. I hope this works out but there is nothing positive being said yet.

The biggest worry is if she's unresponsive. Even if they managed to keep her heart going, if she had a lack of oxygen to the brain, she could be gone, or at least seriously harmed. I guess really only time will tell, but I have to admit that while I have hope that she'll make it, I'm more than aware that the odds are greatly against her at this point, and all we can do is hope for the best and expect the worst.

Carrie Fisher. Actress, author, screenwriter. Reduced, in extremis, to a bad joke about a character she played in a few movies decades ago.

Well, same character she played in a very recent movie, and one that is currently being made.

Yup. Nothing they've reported has to do with brain activity. Six minutes without oxygen to the brain leaves people brain dead. She had CPR which is better than no heart beat but no where near as good as a natural heart beat especially for the potential 30 minutes that was reported.
