I sincerely hope Hawley at least tanked his political career by his recent stunts, but I'm not that optimistic. I'm still expecting some consequences, though.

Stalin's wasn't a fascist, he was a communist which is about as far as you can get on the other end of the spectrum. It's not just would be dictators than use similar tactics, however. The US founding fathers used them as well.

Unfortunately. He or someone like him will have noted how the GOP condoned fascist behavior in Trump. I believe said smarter person will use the Trump 'method' to set up a right wing autocracy in the USA - by first being elected President.

We need more free speech, not less. Free discourse exposes bad ideas. That is why the marxists in our colleges are silencing voices they dislike.

Of all places, colleges should remain the bastion of free discussion of ideas. Thats why college have been taken over by the anti-free speech mob.

You've also said how you want the government to be able to police what's said on the internet.

I just watched A Thousand Cuts, a documentary on Duterte's conflict with Rappler, which is a Filipino news source critical of him. All tinpots attack the media. It's a step toward conquest.

With the caveat that Antifa is not a monolithc organization, I agree that some of the more extreme elements of Antifa are no better then the Trumpists...as much as some here do not want to admit that.
It would be so much easier if I could wear blinders and have a "Left GOOD,Right BAD" mentality, but I just can't.

It does seem like it's a lot more work doing the "both sides" dance. One has to constantly minimize the actions of the right while exaggerating the actions of the left. And after all that work, nobody appreciates the result.
