Bumper sticker. . .(shudder)

So, tell me KK. What wants/needs do you have that make you want to have to believe?
Wants for me have always come down to the issue of love. Love fills a void and people need it. What is a world without love?

More than that I think all people need unconditional love which is hard to find. How can we find unconditonal love when people tend to always put a condition or expectation on it. The best way I can define unconditonal love is by looking at what Jesus did on that cross. He didn't have to do it, but he wanted to, why? To redeem what's been lost.

We live in a fallen world where it's obvious most people are controlled by their sin rather than love for others. How can it be turned around? To me the answer always comes back to God's unconditional love for us. If I have that, then I can share it with others.

Needs are pretty much the same thing... unconditional love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Where there is forgiveness there is love. I'm sure people have other examples of these thing but for me it always comes down to if Jesus forgave me, I can and must want to love others the same. Freely I have received, so now I can freely give. Do you believe in love? It's not something seen and I myself believe it is more than a feeling, it's an action!

And if you can't find it in reality, you look for imaginary friends.

I don't want unconditional love. I don't want friends or lovers to treat me the same no matter how much of a d*** I am. If I do them wrong, I want them to smack me upside the head and tell me.

Also, what did Jesus' death accomplish, exactly? I mean, yes, Christ had his weekend ruined for our sin, but his sacrifice doesn't work unless you believe, right? We don't get the eternal reward unless we do something in return. So how unconditional is God's love?

We've been over this before, kkathy. How long will you keep ignoring our questions.

Is that what you're doing now? Is God's unconditional love also laced with judging, dogmatism, preaching and a hopelessly superior attitude?

Oh, wait... stupid question.

The Queen of Non Sequiturs strikes again.

Yes, I've seen love. Yes, I know it's more than a feeling. Really, you don't need to talk down to us. You talk a lot about love but your only example comes not from real life but from a story, as shallow and formulaic as any romance novel.

Actually from what I remember he didn't have much of a choice in the matter. It's not like he could fight off everyone and not die anyway. So seemed he had given up and accepted his demise instead of standing up for himself... but hey that's just me and my pessimistic views on life.

also love is a wonderful thing, My son loved me more than you could probably understand. THAT is unconditional love. Not some bs you spout about some storybook character made up by a bunch of ancient hash smokers... ok being a bit of an ass there but so what...

Guys, Fowl had the right of it. Kathy doesn't listen. She never will. A significant part of love is having the insight to close your mouth and listen to what others are saying. She can't.

See, the whole point of it with Kathy is that if she keeps talking, she doesn't have to actually think, and she doesn't have to deal with the reality that she lives in a fantasy land. The Real God she's looking for isn't going to be found in these endless, weird warps that she gets into. God, assuming He exists, will be found in factual realms, in TLOP, in the world as it really is, not as she wants it to be. And that's what drives her nuts, and ultimately, us too, because she continues to preach these fantasies of hers.

Or it's just you and your leaving out the rest of they story.

OK. Let's say you're wrong. Let's say these characters weren't just made up.

I dunno. Maybe you aren't able to be skeptical about your own beliefs. Or you don't care.

Anyhow, you do know unconditional love, so you'll be alright, you'll recognize it when you get an unobstructed view.

Here's another great bumper sticker idea,

"Not Born Right The First Time, We Must Be Born Again, John 3:3"

I rather like this one it really makes one think.

Don't remember if this one was posted before, and I'm too lazy to read back through the thread.

"If you're born again, do you have two belly buttons?"

Another one for k_k. Had to copy the image, since the picture just makes it perfect:

Who knew? Mademoiselle Hepzibah, Pepe Le Pew, Odie Colognie (no, not Odie, he wasn't very funny), Fifi La Fume, Sabrina Online... =^_^=

The pun must be the lowest form of humor. I, with an IQ of three, can twist 'em to order.

Are you trying to get a spanking?

The skunk has an excuse, you do not.:p

[Monty Python] Ooh, a spanking! A spanking![/Monty Python]

It's a good thing I didn't work in the bit about a straightline being the shortest distance between two puns.

Read Spider Robinson's "Callahan's" books if you desire more pun-ishment than you can handle.

:D

"If you're born again, do you have two belly buttons?"
No, just a better understanding and more knowlege! This world is persihing my freinds and if we are born again we will see the kingdom of God. Why would anyone in their right mind want to miss out on eternity?

Yeah, well, people "see" a lot of things. There are medications to help with that, you know.

And how is the world perishing, exactly?

Why would anyone in their right mind want to miss out on eternity?

If it's a choice between oblivion and spending eternity with yammering fundies, I know which one I'd pick.

Kathy, I'd rather burn in hell than spend eternity in paradise full of religious people. For me, hell would be spending eternity with self-righteous people who don't think, but don't let that stop them from voicing their half-formed opinions as loudly and as often as possible, while ignoring overwhelming evidence that they are wrong. Bring on the brimstone.
