Sounds like the usual "I HATE RICH PEOPLE/THOSE WITH MORE THAN ME!" populist rant to me, when I clicked the link and looked at some of his other stuff. Its ultra hip and vogue to do that nowdays, don't you know. Makes you friends with the cool kids.
Looks like absolutely nothing has changed.
Charlie Skelton said:[...] What a difference a year makes. Last year in Vouliagmeni when I tried covering the 2009 Bilderberg meeting, I had Greek policemen yelling "No fotografia!" at me at every turn. I was arrested, tailed, harassed, rearrested, yelled at, bundled into squad cars, lied to, intimidated, wrestled with and hounded round Athens like I was John Dillinger.
This year, the police have been deployed in the same extraordinary numbers, but they are smiling, rolling their eyes at the rigmarole; the riot police are giving the thumbs-up to protesters and honking their horns as they come round the "awareness roundabout" at the foot of the hotel.
"The police have been laughing and chatting," says Daniel Turon, a Spanish psycho-sociologist, here in Sitges to psycho-sociologise Bilderberg. "One of them said he had read a book about Bilderberg; another said, 'Yes, we understand.'" The Catalan police, he says, "have a different sensibility" from what you may expect. "They are Catalan. Their minds are independent."
Their minds, perhaps, have been focused by recent pay disputes. Two days ago, the police were on strike in Barcelona: they are facing a pay cut next month, as part of Spain's "austerity measures" (what the IMF calls "fiscal consolidation") – and disgruntlement abounds.
Yesterday, the Spanish newspaper El Público quoted the Catalan police union's estimate, that "the mere deployment of the Mossos d'Esquadra entails costs of €150,000 for each of the four days of the Bilderberg meeting". This union has lodged a formal complaint about the misuse of resources in guarding Bilderberg.
El Público shares the union's concern: "The members of the Bilderberg club have not been elected by the citizens [of this country] in a democratic process, but the costs of the meeting is being met by them." [...]
Charlie Skelton disagrees:
The significant change this year is that the Bilderberg Group is now officially not a "conspiracy theory" anymore. Mainstream media have internationally acknowledged it's existence, forced to by the alternative media. If BILD and SPIEGEL report, it's part of consensus reality.
But i hope you don't tell me that a meeting of 150 or so figures of THAT caliber is nothing the public should be thoroughly informed about.

Only after you provide a source for me claiming that they are a global cabal controlling world events - a believe i don't hold.

Problem is, until recently the meetings were rarely mentioned at all in the "quality" media, no surprise given how many controllers of them are frequent guests.

I meant to ask you to provide a source where I say what your straw man says.
They aren't a global cabal controlling world events, they are one of the most important inofficial steering commitees of "the west", strongly influencing world events.
If you aren't concerned with the obvious disconnect between the importance of the event and the media coverage it gets, i have to conclude that you are not understanding that this doesn't fit with what we are told are the ways our societies work and the values we "defend" in these bloody wars - you know, freedom and democracy, transparency, government for the people, yadda yadda.
If Henry Kissinger (still attending) is dancing naked around an owl god or just - properly dressed - influencing carefully selected elected officials with his sick war criminal "insights" behind closed doors, is of secondary importance.

Please provide your sources for 1 respected media outlet that is reporting the Bilderbergs as a global cabal that controls world events. Just 1.
