This afternoon in front of the hotel near Athens where the annual Bilderberg meeting is going on:
Charlie Skelton said:I'm going to try and make sense of my experiences. It's not easy; I don't want to sound feeble-minded, but this has been a lot to take in. I feel a bit like I've driven down the wrong alley and suddenly don't recognise anything, and people are staring at me and not simply to admire my hair. I'm jumpy. I think someone has been in my room and moved my laptop. I know this sounds bonkers, I know it does, but I took a photo of it before I left the room and it wasn't where I left it.
Listen to me. I sound like a fruitcake. Three days and I've been turned into a suspect, a troublemaker, unwanted, ill at ease, tired and a bit afraid. And I haven't even walked up the road to the Bilderberg hotel since the whole "get in the car!" incident. I've been trying to stay out of trouble, but trouble has followed me down the hill.
The Guardian sent a guy named Charlie Skelton over to the meeting. The kid is not exactly a journalist but some sort of comedian or whatever. He seems to have thought it would be great fun to hang around, make some lame jokes about conspiracy theorists and get fine money from the paper, but it turned out quite differently. Not too much lulz. From his latest dispatch:
I'm going to stop apologising now. I'm going to try and make sense of my experiences. It's not easy; I don't want to sound feeble-minded, but this has been a lot to take in. I feel a bit like I've driven down the wrong alley and suddenly don't recognise anything, and people are staring at me and not simply to admire my hair.

OMG! It has happened to me too! I once left my bed unmade in a hotel room, and when I got back it was neatly made!![]()

Sounds like the usual "I HATE RICH PEOPLE/THOSE WITH MORE THAN ME!" populist rant to me, when I clicked the link and looked at some of his other stuff. Its ultra hip and vogue to do that nowdays, don't you know. Makes you friends with the cool kids.
No, it's Anna Karina.
.Don't eat the mint on the pillow, Charlie!![]()
.
Absolutely -- much safer to eat the pillow

I don't know, I'm getting a feeling of parody when I read those. It's not real obvious, and could simply be Poe's law, but much of the language, and even some of the things already brought up in this thread seem too intentional to me. Add in that the guy is a comedian, and it smells of a joke to me.
