• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Bring Out Our Dead! Pitch in to create a 9/11 CT Best Thread Index!

Well, I originally volunteered to tag the whole CT forum. So I must be mad!

Have we lost our tagger now that Gaspode has been promoted to moderator? Was volunteering to be a moderator a clever ploy to get out of tagging a million threads? :p

Damn, foiled! :D

I'll still be available to tag the 9/11 threads. I don't know how many threads Gravy will keep but even if it's a few hundred it won't take long. If the tags have already been decided, I'll only have to copy and paste them into the tag field and then click 'save'. And maybe a little extra time proofing them.

Oh good! :)

I nominated slightly fewer than 50 threads for keeping from the 500 I was assigned. Those were from earlier this year when the signal to noise ratio was fairly low. Pages from earlier in the archive might have yielded more threads with useful content and less bickering and irrelevance.

FYI: I think I'll be done with this all this weekend Gravy. Sorry for the long time; this is taking far more work than I thought it would.

But I'm happy to do it. I'm just overrunning my time estimate.

It's quite all right. About half of the assignments have been completed. That's fine for me because I'm very busy at the moment.

I volunteered because I've avoided that forum like the plague and decided I couldn't be a good mod without getting familiar with it and being able to moderate and understand some of the ideas in it.

It worked.

I wish it hadn't. :boxedin:

"You can't handle the Truth!"

This is why we old hands use tongs and disposable gloves.

Please include the Physics of Flight thread by X in this index. I haven't gone through all of the math yet, and I am hoping some of the physics-savvy types will add/correct stuff in there as well.

(Yeah, my post in there isn't the most constructive, it was more of a creative bump than anything.)

How are we doing?

If any of our volunteers finds themselves massively overcommitted, I guess I could do another one.

Off-topic posts split to AAH. This thread is for discussion of the Best Thread Index project. No more sarcastic comments about other threads disguised as questions about Best Thread examples, please.

And others who should know better, please learn not to rise to such bait.

So I can bump this thread without it being flooded with stupid?

Bumpity-bump.

No, but apparently Myriad's manning the pumps. Thanks, Myriad.

A quick question that someone in this thread must have the answer to: has anyone got a link to the JREF debunker qualifications thread? Whoever went over the relevant page might have one somewhere.

Dave

Ah, nothing happening at the moment. Things were cruising along in October, but several assignments weren't completed, others needed a lot of editing, and I was in the midst of a move. I don't have the hard drive with the data on it at the moment...thought I would be settled down south a couple of months ago. IIRC, five of the assignments weren't completed. The number of "keeper" threads (out of 250 assigned) ranged from 6 to 140, meaning a lot of reassessment had to be done.

yes a well deserved bump.

For the love of god I hope this project is finished soon, before the 9/11 CT subforum implodes on itself.

The tone of the entire subforum is degenerating rapidly.
