...A pirated program? What does that even mean? Stealing another terrorist's software?
Guys, how do I find the ignore button? Clayton's being disingenuous.

It would be a lot easier to cover up OBL's innocence, assuming there was any, if he was just paste in a pile of rubble.Exactly, so I don't see the reason for suggesting they should've just bombed the compound.

I highly doubt that there were any cameras on the SEALs helmets (despite the repeated speculation by reporters on CNN, FOX, etc.). I'd guess that the only video footage of the operation came from whatever aircraft they had overhead at the time (drones, support helos for example). With cameras on their heads....
Yep. Which is probably why they didn't bomb. The Truthers claiming this was an hush-up assassination ignore the fact that there's a simple way to cover it up quicker, easier, and cheaper; point blank annihilation.Easier than if he's fish food?
Other than being able to ID him without relying on Pakistan or AQ being co-operative I see no difference, but that is one big difference and IMO a good reason not to have done it through bombing.
Thanks. I get the feeling I'll need it soon.Click on his name on the left...an option to ignore will be in the drop down.

Tempesta and Cicorp/Truthmakespeace, do you understand Osama Bin Laden was a MILITARY TARGET in a combat zone?
First, you do not have the knowledge base to judge me.ARgument from ignorance noted. And argument from incredulity.
They took his body to be identified. Now that they have the dead body, what are they supposed to do with it?
Do they piss on it, **** on it, put a ham sandwich in his mouth and a israeli flag around his shoulders and light it on fire?
Do you have ANY IDEA what that would cause?
So lets say they didn't do any of that. But just tipped it over the side of a ship. Maybe pissed off the decks on it.
Do you have ANY IDEA what that would cause?
They killed him. They took him to be identified. Now what can they do that won't cause a BIGGER incident? Oh look. If you wash the body, clean it up, wrap it in a white sheet and then say the proper prayer, you can drop him in the ocean. No fuss. No Muss. No BIG issues.
ETA: You should also look at it from another perspective. By giving him the "proper" rites, they then dropped him over the side of a ship... just like they do with all the rest of the trash (IMHO). This is different from how US servicemen are buried at sea. I personally LOVE the message. He isn't even worth a headstone. Or a grave marker.
Ah I see, I'm getting my wires crossed. Some truthers think this was to stop him spilling the beans on 9/11?
More like there were no beans to spill.
This woman has obviously fallen for some sort of gung-ho, romanticised Hollywood ideal of what constitutes Special Forces. Saying "Known for the 'double tap'" is as redundant as saying 'Known for being in the Special Forces'. "Known" by who for the 'double tap'? Is she suggesting that Team 6 leave scores of dead bodies in their wake to be found by lesser troops who exclaim "Look, 'double tap' - this can only be the work of Navy SEAL Team 6!"
That paragraph reads like she was drunk while she wrote it.
A HARMLESS WOMAN!.. .........
And the point of using a computer without the internet?
Pong? Scrabble? CAD/CAM? Burglar alarm?
It was an anti-terrorist/war action, which is not the same as a police action. Stop trying to soft-shoe your way around the definition. No, we are not at war with Pakistan. It was their neighborhood, not a combat zone. Bin Laden was a fugitive of the U.S. Justice Department as a suspect for crimes.
Emotive language.Bin Laden and a woman... A HARMLESS WOMAN!.. were UNARMED.
Which is not invulnerable.Navy SEALs with body armor
If she charged them in a manner that might be an attack, it was.shot them in a manner perceived by many, especially in that part of the world as inexcusable and cowardly. There is no excuse for it.
He neutralized threats. He did his job. DealWithIt.gif.SEALS are supposed to be brave and the "best of the best". The trigger happy, easily frightened, soldier who shot an unarmed man and WOMAN screwed up,
If someone is a threat in a combat zone, they get shot.and brought shame to America. He hurt our reputation as a righteous nation of laws.
So now the US Marshals need "training in arrests", when you cited them as paragons of law enforcement only a short time ago. Even cops shoot people when they pose threats. He endangers Americans to Blow Back. Team Six needs training in making live arrests, along with the U.S. Marshals or FBI Special Agents.
He's trained to be a soldier, and the SEALs had full discretion to kill him if the situation warranted.Obama is at fault for sending in a man trained only to be an assassin.
Marshals hunt down fugitives. They don't often engage in covert anti-terrorist actions. He should have sent in the U.S. Marshals should have been flown in to do it right, and keep the respect of the world.
Such as respect it's enemies? Oh, wait, they did that by expiditng his burial in accordance with Muslim custom. With Bin Laden alive and in custody, we would show that America has principles is stands for.
The US got a lot of info anyway. We would have gotten a lot more information about terrorists from Bin Laden.
Of course! That's why he never made more than a token claim of innocence in nine+ years! He was completely innocent, so he never really claimed to be innocent! It all makes sense!More like there were no beans to spill.
And the point of using a computer without the internet?
Pong? Scrabble? CAD/CAM? Burglar alarm?
The what now? Computers have always had the Internet! They are absolutely useless without it, donchaknow.I don't know...why don't you ask the thousands of people who used computers before there was an internet?
To be fair, there have been times when my internet service has gone out and I've wondered the same thing ("What's the point of this stupid computer without the internet?").Wow, here's just a few for you, and all would make sense to any individual, but will most likely go right over your head.
Spreadsheets with contact information, rank structure, list of abilities and willingness to do certain things.
Making audio/video records of different things, including death threats, giving orders, sending messages, propoganda, and notes of encuragement.
Editing such video/audio recordings.
Keeping track of who is where, and what their mission is.
Keeping track of finances.
Keeping track of different ideas or plans.
Typing out orders to different groups. Which can then be sent by courior on a flash drive/thumb drive to different groups, which can then be read, and acknowledged as having been received. Doing so negates the possibility of someone tapping into their internet, or listening to their phone conversations.
Those are just a few. I am sure there are plenty more. Including the assinine ones you assumed were the only options.
